
Mike Jarvis has produced a Hall of Fame
basketball resume and is currently preparing for his third season
as Head Coach of the Florida Atlantic University's
Men's Basketball Program. Now in his third decade as a Division I
men's basketball head coach, Jarvis previously led three different
programs into the NCAA Tournament during stops at Boston
University, George Washington University, and St. John's
University.
Prior to his first collegiate head coaching position, Jarvis worked
as an assistant coach at Northeastern University and at Harvard
University. In addition, he has guided Cambridge's lone public
high school, Cambridge Rindge and Latin School (CRLS) to three
consecutive state titles as a head coach in Massachusetts. Along
the way, Mike Jarvis has coached some of the sport's brightest
stars, including Michael Jordan, Patrick Ewing, Ron Artest, and
Yinka Dare and has coached for USA Basketball.
Off the court, Mike Jarvis has been an entrepreneur, a television
analyst for ESPN and Yahoo, and a highly sought after motivational
speaker. Jarvis launched an internet broadcast service called "Jarvis TV" which enables the
community; as well as, colleges to stream live sporting events and
programming over the internet.
Jarvis has been married to his wife Connie for 43 years and
together they have two adult children, Mike II and Dana Shaiyen. He
is also a celebrated author, recently co-authoring a book titled:
"Skills for Life" which is a coaching manual to
help anyone succeed to be the best they can in life, relationships
and business.
University of Minnesota Head Coach Tubby Smith, who coached
Kentucky to a national championship, said of Mike Jarvis, "He is

Atlantic because of his game knowledge, experience and connections
in the basketball world. He can go anywhere in the country to
recruit. He and his wife will develop and build relationships
throughout the administration, community, alumni and corporate
sponsors. One of Mike's greatest skills is communications. He can
communicate with anyone, but especially his players."
