"
The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned." (Isaiah 9:2)
In this season of Advent, I want to stop and give thanks for God's overwhelming goodness to us in the past year. His Presence among us is by far the greatest gift of all. When we could not help ourselves, God humbled Himself, and came to Earth to redeem and save us. It was the greatest rescue mission of all time.
I also want to thank you for your faithful prayers while I was away on my recent trip overseas. As I mentioned on Sunday, all of us on the mission team felt them. Being that the world is in such a tender place, we desperately needed your prayers. It seems like every day we hear new reports of horrific violence. Darkness seems to be spreading like wildfire all over the globe.
None of these developments surprise the Lord in any way, and certainly He's heartbroken by them. The Lord loves the world, and He loves the people He created. He provided the perfect solution to deep darkness 2000 years ago. Let this season be a time when, more than ever, we look with hope to the coming of Jesus, the Light of the World.
Blessings to you and your family this Advent!
Gratefully in Christ,

CHRISTMAS OUTREACH UPDATE
Operation Christmas Child
Thanks to the generosity of the congregation, the Skimmers were able to pack 49 boxes. The boxes were dropped off at the relay station the week before Thanksgiving. From there they were trucked to Boone, North Carolina where they will be dispersed around the world. Thank you to the Outreach Committee who donated $7.00 per box to cover postage and a Bible study course, The Greatest Journey, where they learn to become faithful followers of Christ. Please pray that God will use each box to bring joy to boys and girls all around the world.
Jamaican Christmas Bags
Thank you to everyone who filled bags for the children and adults at St. Monica's school in Jamaica. While on the mission trip, Bob Webster will be delivering the bags to the children the weekend of December 11th
along with the folks from Holy Sacrament.

Ten ^Little Angels
Thank you so much for supporting the Skimmer's Bake Sale. We were able to raise over $1,000.00!!! This enabled us to adopt two more "Little Angels." The Skimmers met at Target on Wednesday, December 2nd
to shop for all the "Little Angels" from the Child Care Resource Center. It was amazing to see a line of 12 carts filled with toys! The children had such a great time that they can't wait to do it again next year. What a humbling experience to see children reaching out to those in need with God's love in their hearts!

This is the time of year when many people think about financial planning, year-end giving and budgeting for the future and, for Christians, how we can be good stewards over the resources God has provided to us. One very important aspect of planning, which is too often neglected, is the making of a last will and testament. We want to remind and encourage you to make this a top priority if you have not already done so and remember bequests to St. Paul's.
