Community Learning Centers (CLCs)
WECook Program = Food, Fitness, Fun
The CLCs are helping kids and families be healthier through the WeCook program, an interactive and hands-on approach to nutrition education for youth that also incorporates fitness. WeCook helps kids learn to make healthy snack choices and prepare healthy meals.
Children involved in the WeCook classes are using their newfound skills to make their entire family healthier by hosting their parents and siblings monthly at Family Engagement Nights in their CLC, choosing the menu, preparing the food, and serving the meal.

Lincoln Public Schools:
Star Wars, Pokémon, Superheroes & Success
What do you get when you mix Star Wars, Pokémon, Superheroes and Wellness? Success and a whole lot of fun. Lincoln Public Schools supports wellness for over 8,000 staff and 40,000+ students throughout the 60-location school system in Lincoln.
The LPS Wellness program finds fun and innovative ways to encourage kids to be active and eat healthy with their quarterly wellness challenges.

Community Breastfeeding Educator Writes Book

Makayla Townsell survived a harrowing childhood to become a caring member of society. Her book, Momma Do You Hear Me Cry, details her struggle.
Makayla is a Community Breastfeeding Educator in North Omaha where she now helps women navigate their breastfeeding journeys.
A collaborative effort between MilkWorks, Partnership for a Healthy Lincoln, and other community partners, the Community Breastfeeding Educator program provides peer to peer support for women who share similar languages and/or cultures. Learn more.

Partnership for a Healthy Lincoln (PHL) is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the health, wellness, and fitness of our community. We collaborate with other organizations on joint projects to improve health by increasing physical fitness, promoting good nutrition, supporting breastfeeding, and improving cancer screening rates.
Our work includes improving health and wellness policies, conducting community level research, and evaluation of the success of local health initiatives.
