Women in Tech
"While students in general are getting exposure to STEM focused information, there is still a lag in female interest. To help boost the number of women in technology centered careers, colleges such as UAlbany are developing Women in Technology groups in which females studying STEM courses can meet regularly, gain insight into the local tech industry, and make valuable connections."

Emphasizing Internships
This fall, we've been focusing on college students' and recent grads' needs for valuable internship opportunities. A high quality internship experience with a great company can open many doors for both entry level job seekers and businesses. By gaining the valuable skills they need to get a foot in the door to a fantastic career, college students will be better prepared for the workforce; businesses have the opportunity to train and influence young professionals and potentially hire them on board following internship completion.
We aim to provide some of the very best internship opportunities to local college students this winter and spring. If you're interested in bringing an intern on board in 2013, we can help!

Looking forward: 2013
Recently, we had the pleasure of meeting with Dr. Jennifer Goodall, Assistant Dean, UAlbany Department of Informatics and Director of the College of Computing and Information Women in Technology Program. The CCIWIT group has several events in the works including panel discussions, a job shadowing program, and The New York Celebration of Women in Computing Conference (coming Spring 2013.) We are excited to be a part of CCIWIT and look forward to working with Dr. Goodall as she encourages young women to explore the world of Technology! |
