November 2015
DGT's signature event is probably our Family Service Fair, where parents and children get to complete ready-made service projects that benefit those in need. It's a fun way for schools, faith groups, businesses and others to help introduce families to the "giving back" habit. And it's a festive setting for parents to inspire empathy, social awareness and community engagement in their kids. The fairs are so popular, we've created a manual and online toolkit so any group can host it on their own.

DGT Family Service Fair3
DGT's Family Service Fair  does triple duty: it builds camaraderie within your organization, makes a difference for others, and conveys the joy of service. The event consists of 5 to 10 "booths" or "stations," each one offering the supplies to complete a simple, hands-on service project to benefit a nonprofit, such as:
  • Assembling snack bags for Ronald McDonald House families.
  • Creating bracelet kits for hospitalized children.
  • Making chew toys for shelter animals.
  • Decorating placemats for Meals on Wheels recipients.
  • Making sandwiches for people who are hungry.
Of course, DGT continues to be available to organize these events for you, and oversee all the details. INSPIRATION
Briar Lake Elementary, Decatur, Georgia "Our parents, students and teachers were so inspired and energized by [our Family Service Fair]. As a PTA officer, I have never been thanked so many times and received so much positive feedback about a program as I have received about this one. This event really touches people. We were proud to be the first school that we know of in the Atlanta area to host such an event, and we hope it is just the beginning for us."
