The House of Ruth Maryland leads the fight to end violence against women and their children by confronting the attitudes, behaviors and systems that perpetuate it, and by providing victims with the services necessary to rebuild their lives safely and free of fear. Your family can help by gathering items that are very much in need for House of Ruth residents. They have an immediate need for baby supplies and toys, new socks and undergarments for women and children, and bed linens. Check their
wish list for other needed items. Please review these
Donation Guidelines before collecting your donations.

Assemble Comfort & Toiletry Kits
Ronald McDonald House of Baltimore
Date/Time: Open for drop-offs seven days a week from 9am - 9pm
Location: 635 West Lexington St., Baltimore
Help us provide families at the Ronald McDonald House with a little extra comfort! Create a toiletry kit with a personal touch. These kits are placed in each bedroom for families to use during their stay at the house. To prepare a kit, please use the following guidelines: Kits should be neatly wrapped in transparent wrap and gathered at the top with a ribbon, string, or twist tie. PLEASE DO NOT INCLUDE ANY TYPE OF MEDICATIONS & ALL ITEMS MUST BE CHILD SAFE.
Comfort Kits:
- Idea #1: Wrap a new towel set (bath towel, hand towel, face cloth) in a ribbon or a gift bag. Include a note of encouragement.
- Idea #2: Wrap a new bathrobe with slippers in a ribbon or gift bag. Include a note of encouragement.
- Idea #3: Make a 'Goodie Bag' with a variety of candies, gum, sunscreen, hand sanitizer, mints, playing cards, crossword puzzles, pens, etc. Package items neatly and include a note of encouragement.
Toiletry Kits:
- Priority Contents for toiletry kits are (travel sizes only): Shampoo, Conditioner, Lotion, Bath Soap
- Additional Contents: Mouthwash, Toothbrush/ Toothpaste/Floss, Razor and Shaving Cream, Deodorant, etc.

Flashlight "Seize the Night" Sleep-Out
St. Vincent de Paul of Baltimore
Date/Time: Saturday, November 5, 4pm, through Sunday, November 6, 9am
Location: Timonium Fairgrounds (Infield) 2200 York Rd., Timonium
The mission of St. Vincent de Paul of Baltimore is to ensure that those impacted by poverty have the skills and resources to achieve their full potential. They provide a variety of programs and services for people in Baltimore who are struggling with poverty. You can help raise awareness and funds for St. Vincent de Paul of Baltimore by participating in the Flashlight sleep out. Flashlight is a fundraising event powered by St. Vincent de Paul that challenges individuals, families, and teams to sleep-out to provide support and raise funds to help fight homelessness in Baltimore. Family Volunteer Day
Ministry Beyond Myself
Date/Time: Saturday, November 19, 1 - 3pm
Location: The Synergy Center 6419 York Rd., Baltimore
Families will collect, donate, and assemble care packages for 150 children and their families living in the Dominican Republic (DR). These families are in dire poverty and unable to buy food on a regular basis. The aftermath of Hurricane Matthew has made this even more difficult. Prior to the Family Volunteer Day, families will be encouraged to donate toiletries, school supplies and dry goods. On the service day, families will sort and package the donated items for shipment. The children will make cards with special messages as well as friendship bracelets to be sent to the children in the developing community. There will also be a mini-video presentation to introduce participants to the economic and social structures in the DR and how they impact the families in this nation. Food and drink will be provided to all volunteers.

Happy Helpers Meal Preparation
Happy Helpers for the Homeless
Date/Time: Every Saturday in November, 11:30am - 1pm
Location: Happy Helpers Headquarters, 1550 Catons Center Dr., Halethorpe
Happy Helpers for the Homeless bring love and necessities directly to homeless and poverty-stricken men, women, and children every Saturday. Families are welcome to meet at our headquarters to make and bag sandwiches. After this, volunteers will head to Harundale Presbyterian Church, 1020 Eastway, Glen Burnie, to distribute sandwiches and other necessities to the needy in the community.

Happy Helpers Meal Distribution
Happy Helpers for the Homeless
Date/Time: Every Sunday in November, 1 - 3:30pm
Location: Our Daily Bread, 725 Fallsway, Baltimore
Happy Helpers for the Homeless bring love and necessities directly to homeless and poverty-stricken men, women, and children every Sunday. Families are welcome to meet at Our Daily Bread where we set up their dining room, organize our goods and clothing, and then hand out all that we can to Baltimore's needy.

Angel Tree Program/Adopt An Angel
Salvation Army of Central Maryland
Date/Time: November 14 through December 17

- The Shops at Kenilworth, 800 Kenilworth Dr., Towson
- Hunt Valley Towne Center, 118 Shawan Rd., Cockeysville
The Angel Tree program matches donors with children from qualified families to ensure children receive gifts and clothing during the holidays. Visit one of the malls listed above to choose your Angel. Then:
- Take one or more Angels from the tree. Keep a list of the codes for the Angels so information can be obtained again if Angels are misplaced.
- Purchase age and gender-appropriate toys, clothing, and/or special needs items as listed on the coded section of the Angels.
- Return your unwrapped gifts with the coded section of the Angel attached to the item to the designated location. All items must be returned by the indicated deadline (December 14th for most mall locations; earlier for corporate sponsors) to ensure delivery to Angels by The Salvation Army in time for Christmas.
Feel free to keep the Angel portion of the card and place it on your Christmas tree as an ornament.

The Box Project
Date/Time: Flexible
Location: The Box Project will match you with a family that lives in an area of rural poverty in the Mississippi Delta.
You and your family can make a difference by sponsoring a family with The Box Project. You'll enrich the lives of a family living in poverty in rural America by establishing a meaningful, long-term relationship and providing needed supplies. The Box Project helps to create supportive, personal relationships directly between a sponsor family and a family in need living in rural America. The Box Project acts as matchmaker, pairing sponsors with carefully screened individuals or families that need help. The sponsors offer long term, meaningful interactions including encouragement, advice, and boxes of needed supplies about once a month. Box items will vary from family to family and month to month, but typically include household supplies, food, school supplies, clothing or seasonal items.
