Happy Helpers Meal Distribution
Happy Helpers for the Homeless
Date/Time: Every Sunday in November, 1 - 3pm
Location: Our Daily Bread, 725 Fallsway, Baltimore
We bring love and necessities directly to homeless and poverty-stricken men, women, and children every Saturday and Sunday no matter the weather and including holidays. Your family is welcome to meet us at Our Daily Bread where we set up their dining room, organize our goods and clothing, and then hand out all that we can to Baltimore's needy.
Ages: All ages are welcome to participate
Time Commitment: Two hours

Date/Time: Every Saturday in November, 11:30am - 1pm
Location: Happy Helpers Headquarters, 1550 Catons Center Dr., Halethorpe
We bring love and necessities directly to homeless and poverty-stricken men, women, and children every Saturday and Sunday no matter the weather and including holidays. Your family is welcome to meet at our headquarters to make and bag sandwiches. After this, we head to Harundale Presbyterian Church (1020 Eastway, Glen Burnie) to distribute sandwiches and other necessities to the needy in the community.

Holiday Wish List
House of Ruth
Date/Time: Beginning Thursday, November 14. Donations will be accepted Monday through Friday, noon - 8pm

House of Ruth Maryland leads the fight to end violence against women and their children by confronting the attitudes, behaviors and systems that perpetuate it, and by providing victims with the services necessary to rebuild their lives safely and free of fear. You and your family can help by providing items from our
wish list. Please review the

Thanksgiving Basket Project 2017
Assistance Center of Towson Churches (ACTC)
Date/Time: Wednesday, November 15 through Friday, November 17, 10am - 3pm
Location: Memorial Hall of Trinity Episcopal Church 120 W. Allegheny Ave., Towson,
Since 1988, the ACTC has been making Thanksgiving brighter for Towson and nearby area families. The ACTC is now gearing up for the collection and distribution of "Thanksgiving Baskets" to low income families. Have your family put together a basket that includes the following:
- 1 can sweet potatoes/yams (23-29 oz)
- 2 cans meat/main dish (e.g. beef stew or chili 15-24 oz)
- 1 large can fruit (20-30 oz)
- 4 cans vegetables (15 oz)
- 1 cranberry sauce
- 2 packages macaroni and cheese
- 1 box instant mashed potatoes
- 1 cake or brownie mix
- 1 lb. bag or box of rice
Guidelines for packing: Only put listed items in your bags, put heavy cans at bottom, mark filled bags "complete", mark partially filled bags "incomplete" and list missing items, use reusable grocery bags or a double brown grocery bag inserted into a double plastic bag. Volunteers are also needed to help sort, receive, or distribute the bags. Please contact

Lunch Patrol - Thanksgiving Leftovers Edition
B & Dee's Baltimore Love and Fourth Meal, Inc.
Date/Time: Sunday, November 26, beginning at noon.
Location: Weinberg Housing and Resource Center, 620 Fallsway, Baltimore
Lunch Patrol is an event in Baltimore held on the last Sunday of every month. Our goal is to provide brown bag lunches to those in need throughout the City of Baltimore. Volunteers are needed to help with assembling lunches and distributing lunches. Donations needed in the form of pre-made brown bag lunches (sandwich, drink, snack, dessert) or supplies to make lunches (lunchmeat, cheese, peanut butter, jelly, mayo and mustard packets, single-serve snacks and desserts, and canned soda and bottled water).

Location: A homeless shelter or soup kitchen in your community.
Many homeless shelters and soup kitchens rely on volunteers to provide meals for their guests. You and your family can help by providing a meal or meals. To find a local shelter or soup kitchen, Google homeless shelters along with your city name. Once you find a shelter, contact their volunteer coordinator to see if they are looking for volunteers and check for any age requirements. The shelter will help you schedule a date and provide you with any specific instructions. Find more information and ideas on the

In this month of gratitude and giving, Minnesota holds its traditional "Give to the Max Day" on November 16th, and the global effort "Giving Tuesday" donation day takes place this year on November 28th.
