The Andrew Graham Semper Fi Fund is a 501(C)(3) public charitable organization created to honor the life of Corporal Andrew Graham Narcus (USMC). The Andrew Graham Semper Fi Fund was founded in 2012, ten years after Andrew's death. The AGSF Fund is volunteer-based and 100% of donations go directly towards endowing scholarships. The organization's mission is to generate funds through the Boston River Run fundraiser and endow scholarships at Massachusetts community colleges. Flat, family-friendly, scenic, safe 5K charity run/walk along the Charles River

Ages: Everyone is welcome to come but most opportunities will be best for older kids and adults. Younger kids are welcome to walk/run or cheer.

Pie in the Sky Pie Selling Project

Join the Community Servings Pie Selling team on their 26th Anniversary! The Pie Sellers help CS sell more than 21,000 pies each year! Be a part of this one-of-a-kind Thanksgiving bake sale and sign up to be a Pie Seller. There's no fundraising minimum and you'll have access to tips and tools to make it easy to sell pies to friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers and reach your goal. It's a great activity for elementary and middle school children. They can form a team and become Pie Sellers.

Ages: All ages, with an adult " Team Captain."

Pie in The Sky Pie Pick-Up and Delivery

Date/Time: Monday, November 19 - Wednesday, November 21; volunteers are needed for the following dates and times:
  • Monday, November 19: 9am - 1pm, 10am - 2pm, 11am - 3pm & 2 - 6pm
  • Tuesday, November 20:  9am - 1pm & 1 - 4pm
  • Wednesday, November 21: 8:30am-noon & 11am - 3 pm 
Location: Hynes Convention Center
 
You and your children can help Community Servings during the home stretch of their Pie in the Sky pie sale with this very important task of picking up and delivering pies to locations around Greater Boston. Pies will be picked up from bakers and delivered to Pie Central. Then, completed pie orders need to be delivered from Pie Central to designated pick-up sites. Fill up your car, turn on your GPS and away you go! Pie in the Sky raises money to provide free, medically tailored and nutritional meals for Greater Boston's critically ill and their families. Community Servings provides meals to over 1,600 people each week.
 
Ages: All ages with adult with a driver's license

Thanksgiving Meal Delivery

Date/Time: Wednesday, November 21, 9, 10 or 11am

Join the Community Servings Thanksgiving Meal Delivery team! Volunteers are needed to help deliver Thanksgiving meals to individuals and families living with critical illnesses across Boston. Volunteers will need to deliver meals in their own vehicle. (One person per vehicle to sign up for the shift.) All volunteers will go through a delivery orientation during the first half an hour of the shift and you will be prepared to deliver Thanksgiving Meals.

Ages: Families are welcome to participate. Adult supervision is required for those under 18.
 
Time Commitment: Deliveries can take anywhere from one to three hours.

JF&CS Family Table Distribution
Jewish Family and Children's Service
 
Date/Time:  Sunday, November 18 or Sunday, December 9, between two to three hours
  • 9am: If interested, participate in setting up for the food distribution.
  • 10:15-11:45am: Receive your assignment and pack and deliver groceries. You may arrive anytime during this time frame.
First time volunteers should plan on arriving at 10am to attend a 30-minute introductory session and orientation.
 
Location: 1430 Main Street, Waltham
 
Family Table provides healthy food on a monthly and emergency basis to individuals and families in need. Their mission is to end hunger in the Greater Boston Jewish community while serving people who need assistance, regardless of religious affiliation. Family Table fulfills its mission by providing Kosher food, creating a caring Jewish connection, and empowering people to make healthy eating a part of their daily lives. Family Table serves more than 100 towns across Greater Boston, the North Shore, and the South Area. Currently, Family Table is helping more than 500 families each month with groceries and connections to other services. Volunteers are needed to help with packaging and delivering food orders to recipient families. Packing will take approximately 30 - 45 minutes. Your delivery location will not be more than 30 minutes from your hometown but not in your hometown for confidentiality reasons. The clients know that you are just dropping off the food and not visiting.

Ages: All ages are welcome and encouraged to volunteer when accompanied by an adult.
 
Time Commitment: Two to three hours depending on the activity.
 
Contact: Email [email protected] at least two weeks before distribution date to sign up. All adult volunteers must complete a JF&CS administered CORI background check. If you have volunteered at Family Table previously, you can sign up one week before the distribution date.

Give thanks and start a new family tradition this Thanksgiving! Kick off your Thanksgiving Day festivities with a fun, family- friendly event to benefit local charities. Proceeds from race benefit the Dedham Food Pantry and local Ripples of Hope community-based service initiatives. Bring a bag of non-perishable food to be sorted on race day morning!

Teach your children the importance of sharing your bounty with others by sponsoring a family in need with a monthly box of groceries. Choose one of the six options on the Family-to Family website and your family can help ease the burden of hunger and poverty in one of America's poorest communities. Depending on the option you choose, you'll need to buy groceries and personal care items, along with a box and postage.
