A Note From the Board....

Allan Baldwin, Part-Time Visitation Ministry Pastor
The Board is pleased to announce that Allan Baldwin will be our Visitation Ministry Pastor. Dr. Tom Petters, who will be our Interim Senior Pastor, will be available on a part time basis. This enables Allan to fulfill the visitation pastoral role for our church.  He will also lead the Wednesday Morning Bible Study. We are most fortunate and appreciative to Allan for being able to serve us in this capacity!

Thank you for Returning Your Faith Promise Card!

To aid us in developing our 2015 budget, please return your Faith Promise Card by December 6th.
Additional Faith Promise Cards and Stewardship Packets may be found at the Connection Hub. You may also email your Faith Promise to the church at [email protected].

Advent and Christmas at TCC
The first Christmas was unlike anything people had ever experienced before.  It was unexpected, yet long-awaited. It was chaotic for some, but for others, a silent experience. Yet God uniquely spoke in these situations which calmed fears, provided clarity, and brought peace.

Despite the uncertainty of our lives, we have the same access to God's word, which still speaks just as powerfully to us today. As we hear the Christmas story this season we can find direction, peace, and hope as the Christmas story connects our story to God's story.

Schedule of Events and Services:

Cookies Needed for Kilburn/Pettersen Barn, December 5
Would you be willing to bake or buy cookies, brownies or other finger desserts for refreshments to be served at the Kilburn/ Pettersen Barn Living Nativity?  If so, please bring them to church Sunday morning, December 5, in a disposable container marked K/P Barn.  Thanks!

Angel Tree "Angels" - Gift Deadline is Sunday, December 6th
All the "Angels" have now been taken from the Angel Tree.  Thank you!  If possible, please include a gift receipt with your gift in case an item needs to be exchanged.  Also, please attach the Angel Tree tag to your wrapped gifts and return them to TCC by December 6th.  Gifts can be left on the tables set up in the stairwell area off the lobby.

Family Volunteer Opportunity - Help Deliver Angel Tree Gifts!
Could you and your family help to deliver the Angel Tree Christmas gifts?  It's a wonderful opportunity to put "feet to your faith" and share the joy of Christmas giving with your family.
There will be signup sheets on the gift tables set up in the stairway off the lobby.   If you would like more information on this program or could help with gift delivery, please contact Jim Santamaria 508-358-7821 or [email protected].

Will You Donate to Help Pay for Angel Tree Gift Recipients Bibles?
In keeping with TCC's mission statement to be and make disciples of Jesus Christ, we want to include a Children's Bible with each Angel Tree recipient's gift.  Together we can make this happen! We will order the same Bibles our children use at LTA.
The cost is $14 each. Please make out checks to TCC with "Angel Tree Bibles" in the memo line.

Announcements

** Winter Weather and Possible Church Cancellations**
W ith winter right around the corner, we need to start thinking about snow and the possibility of church service delays or cancellations.  In the event of bad weather, a decision will be made by noon on Saturday regarding the SNL service and by 7P on Saturday night for Sunday morning services.
On Sunday mornings, we may cancel the 9:30 service along with LTA and Student Ministry Programming and just have the 11A service.

You can learn about plans to cancel or delay services by:
  • Calling the church office (508-358-7717) where you'll hear a temporary message on the answering machine relative to cancellations or programming status
  • Checking the front page of the TCC website
  • Checking CBSBoston.com
  • Watching WBZ-TV
As always, please use your own discretion before traveling in questionable weather!

Volunteer Opportunities

TCC runs on volunteers! Please visit the TCC "How to Serve" webpage at http://www.tccwayland.org/serve.php for more information.   Here are a few current opportunities:

Additional Ushers Still Needed...

Our mission:  To welcome every visitor and member to the house of God!

What is needed: Ushers are absolutely critical in helping newcomers form their first impression of TCC. You help set the tone for the worship experience to come. You are representatives of God's kingdom.  You're not just opening doors, providing information, handing out bulletins or collecting the offering, you are making people feel welcome!

Could you help 1 Sunday morning a month?  Please contact Debbie Wilson at [email protected] or 508-358-7717.

Volunteer Offering Counters Needed ...

Are you accurate and reliable?  Volunteers count the weekly offering (mostly checks for deposit) each Sunday, and we are in need of new helpers.  Offering counters work in pairs.  Contact Aimee Mury at [email protected] or 508- 358-7717, x303 if this might be a way you could help us.  Training provided!

Coffee Hour needs YOU!

If you enjoy having a cup of coffee while chatting with others after Sunday service, please sign-up (alone or with your Small Group) to host a coffee hour! Currently, no one is signed up.

You don't even have to provide snacks - just make, set up and then clean up the coffee and tea! (Easy instructions provided - click here to see what is involved!)

Participation gives you and your group an opportunity to serve the Lord and is greatly appreciated by your fellow members. Please sign up at the Connection Hub this Sunday or contact the church office.

Thanks for reading and hope to see you this weekend.
Sincerely,

Debora Wilson
