OUR MISSION:
St. Rita School inspires students in Pre-Kindergarten through grade eight to achieve academic excellence in a safe, nurturing and faith-filled Catholic environment.
We prepare students to be morally responsible, innovative thinkers who, in today’s technology-guided global community, live and share the Love of Christ.
From the desk of Mrs. Tiezzi

Dear SRS Parents,

We have just received exciting news from the Archbishop’s office that St. Rita School has been given the official green light on our new playground project. We have placed the equipment order for the project and expect to take delivery of the equipment by the end of the calendar year. Should we have a relatively mild late fall and early winter we will begin the installation immediately, otherwise the project will be delayed until spring.  All our students and teachers are looking forward to having a safe and updated play area. The second project we are working on is updating our school security. We are currently waiting to hear from the state of Connecticut on the status of the security grant we submitted which will provide up to 50% reimbursement for any security related projects we undertake. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the 60 th anniversary campaign which has helped to fund some of the cost of the new playground and updated security.  Donations are still being accepted in order for us to reach our goal in the campaign.
This Thursday, November 9  is an early dismissal day. Dismissal is at 12:00 for Pre-K and 12:15 for grades K-8.  Aftercare will be open. On Friday, November 10, school will be closed for Veteran’s Day as we honor those who have so bravely served this country .  Our country is founded on the principles of freedom, justice, and liberty for all. Our nation's soldiers serve every day to protect our country and its ideals. As a way of honoring our veterans, please have your child take some time on Veteran's Day, to remember and thank those who sacrifice their lives to achieve peace and democracy in our country. Have you child make a phone call or pay a visit to someone they know (grandpa, grandma, aunt, uncle, neighbor, or friends) who is currently serving or has served in the armed forces. All they need to do is say thank you.

Thank you for entrusting your children to our care. Enjoy the remainder of the week.

God Bless,

Mrs. Tiezzi
