#WhyIliffiansGive

I give because it’s part of being in relationship, being in community and I value those things highly. I value those things highly because I’ve been given a bounty in life in terms of friendship, and love and support and encouragement. I give because I understand that all of those things weren’t meant to stop with me because I have a chance for those things to expand through me.

I give because life can be so challenging. It is so easy to start operating from scarcity... [A] habit of the church is to operate from scarcity. It is a habit of ministers to operate from scarcity. We don’t have enough time; not enough budget; not enough something. [We think that] we are not enough. Giving disrupts that and I like disruption...

I give because it helps connect me to the sacred. It helps connect me to what I understand as the purpose of us being here. [W]e are here to belong to one another. We belong to one another.
