More than 100 golfers joined us for the Ron Rotella Golf Classic on November 3 at Rocky Point Golf Course. Gateway Development Area Plans Underway at Tampa International Airport
As Phase I of Tampa International Airport's Master Plan nears completion, plans are moving forward on Phase II featuring the Gateway Development Area. A 240,000-square-foot, eight-story building plus a gas station, convenience store, two hotels and 20,000 square feet of other retail are planned for development.

Westshore Interchange Rebuild
The Florida Department of Transportation recently held a workshop regarding future interstate improvements, including plans to rebuild the I-275/SR 60 Westshore Interchange. Rebuilding the Westshore Interchange is the Westshore Alliance's top transportation priority. Our organization has reviewed the plans and provided feedback to FDOT. The letter is available

FDOT has revised its plans to replace the
Howard Frankland Bridge
to include better transit accommodations, add two express lanes in each direction, and a bicycle and pedestrian path. The public hearing will take place November 14, from 5:30 - 7:30 pm at the Tampa Marriott Westshore. A second hearing will be held in St. Petersburg on November 16. FDOT will soon begin construction on a 220-foot bridge on the Courtney Campbell Causeway west of Ben. T. Davis Beach. The bridge will improve water quality and restore tidal flow in the northeast portion of Old Tampa Bay. The project's estimated completion is late 2019.

What's New at the Courtney Campbell Trail?
Courtney Campbell Trail users are enjoying new walk-bike amenities thanks to the City of Tampa, Hillsborough County and Florida Department of Transportation. Amenities, which were designed by AECOM, include shade structures with seating areas, bike repair stations, bench swings and new landscaping. This initiative was led by the Courtney Campbell Scenic Highway Committee, and the Westshore Alliance plays an active role as a committee member.
