2014 Wisconsin Deer Season!

 


It's gettin' to be that time of year! 

Wisconsin Deer Season Dates:
Bow: Through January 4, 2015
Gun: November 22-30
Muzzleloader: December 1-10
Antlerless Hunt (certain zones): December 11-14

 Welcome hunters! When you're getting ready for the hunt, make sure to check out the information from the DNR regarding the rule changes this year. The biggest change is that for the first time in many years, most of northern Wisconsin is a buck-only hunt. 

Are you heading to deer camp? Give us a call at 715-822-4728 and we can get your camp food order ready to pick up on your way. Try out our special Hunter's Salami for your sandwiches - on sale for only $3.99/lb.

Have your venison sausage made by Award-Winning Sausage Makers! Don't forget to check out our Wild Game Processing Information on our website. We are again processing whole deer. If you prefer to cut your own deer, bring your clean venison trimmings in food-grade containers. No appointment is necessary.



If you have an extra deer, remember that we are once again participating in the Wisconsin Deer Donation Program this year. There is no cost to donate a deer; however, the entire deer must be donated to get the free processing (you may keep the head, cape, or antlers for mounting). The meat will be distributed to food pantries in Barron County.

Thanksgiving Day is Thursday, November 27! On Thanksgiving Day, Louie's Finer Meats will be CLOSED; and Louie's Lodge will be OPEN 9 AM to 3 PM. We will be open regular hours on all other days. 

 

We have everything you need to make your Thanksgiving Dinner perfect. Give us a call at 715-822-4728 to order a turkey, ham, or roast and we'll have it ready for you when you stop in.

November Recipe of the Month: 
Venison Sausage Breakfast Pie
Ingredients:
  • 1 lb. of Louie's Venison Bulk Breakfast Sausage
  • 1 Tbsp. of Butter
  • 1 lb. of fresh Mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/2 cup of chopped Onion
  • 4 Eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 lb. of Monterey Jack Cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup of Cream
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • 2 Baked 9-inch Pie Shells
Preheat the oven to 350 F. Melt the butter in a large frying pan and saute` the mushrooms and onions for 5 minutes. Brown the breakfast sausage and set aside. Mix the sausage, mushrooms, onions, cheese, eggs, cream, salt, and pepper. Spread evenly into the pie crusts and bake for 30 minutes. Serve! If you make extra pies, you may freeze them to heat on a later date.

Louie's Brat Haus:


 

 

Thank you for your support of the Louie's Brat Haus in 2014! The Brat Haus is now closed for the winter, but it will re-open in April of 2015.

 

 

The Brat Haus serves our 2014 Wisconsin Grand Champion Traditional Bratwurst, along with our Old-Fashioned Wieners and a different flavored bratwurst each weekend throughout the "warmer" months.

 

 

In 2014, a total of 46 local non-profit organizations used the Brat Haus as a fundraiser. Your support of these community organizations is much appreciated! Groups using the Brat Haus include Youth Groups, Church Groups, Charities, Community Organizations, and more!
