Check Out What's Going On In November!
Formation/ Generosity

"Sunday School?  40 hours maximum per year; 240 hours for a child from grade one through grade six.

Public School? 1,170 hours per year; 9,180 hours for a child from grade one through grade six, including 2 hours for homework, 6 nights per week.

By the time our children are in the seventh grade, an average of 2.6% of their educational experience has been devoted to learning about God and their ultimate destiny."
                                                                                             Anglican Digest, Autumn 2017

St. Stephen's has a strong Sunday School thanks to Rhonda Fay, coordinator and dedicated teachers with parents.  Nothing is offered to our 13-18 year olds.  Can we form them? How? St. Stephen's began because there was not a church in Port Washington and no Sunday School for Dr. And Mrs. Wysong's children.  Christ Church, Manhasset was too far away.  Our Adult Formation is sermons, Lenten program, Sunday Bible study.

Year after year this church has asked of its members' time, skills and financial help. Every time the members have stepped up resulting in forming our children and adults in the faith.  The generosity in the past provided the land and buildings with their maintenance, worship, outreach, mission work, community activity and the "glue" that keeps us rolling on.  The journey of generosity keeps us connected to God and God's people.  Needs are greater than usual for 2018.  The rector search process is an added expense, along with insurance, maintenance increases.
Fellow members of this parish it is our time to come forward with time, skills and finances to move our parish community into 2018 with a sound footing in our ministry.  Please pray, discern and step out in the trust of doing more than we think we can.

Yours in Christ, Fr. Gary
