NEPA Alliance has several loan products available for small businesses in Carbon, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Pike, Schuylkill and Wayne Counties.
These low cost, low interest loans offer reduced down payments and standard loan term maturities for machinery and equipment, land and building acquisition, construction and renovation. Loan rates are fixed and generally below the prime lending rate.
Eligible businesses include Manufacturers, Industrial, Agriculture/Agribusiness, Hospitality & Tourism Related Enterprises, Recyclers, Day Cares, Computer Related Services, Advanced Technology, and Retail and Service Related Businesses. Other business sectors may also qualify.
NEPA Alliance Business Finance Corporation has Small Business Administration (SBA) 504 loans available for eligible small businesses in Carbon, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Pike, Schuylkill and Wayne Counties.
Financing Structure
A bank or other lender finances 50% of the project cost and takes a first lien position on the assets financed. The SBA 504 loan finances 40% of the project cost up to $5.5 million and takes a second lien position. The borrower then contributes a down payment of as little as 10%.

The Pennsylvania Office of International Business Development (OIBD) has announced they will have a booth at Arab Health and organize a trade mission to Vietnam and the Philippines.
Arab Health will take place January 29 - February 1, 2018 in Dubai, UAE. Participation fee for a 2m x 2m space is $4,300; for a 3m x 2m space is $6,400 and 3m x 3m space is $9,600.
Arab Health has 4,072 exhibitors from 68 countries, over 100,000 visitors from 159 countries and 14 conferences.
Vietnam & the Philippines trade mission will take place April 8 - 14, 2018. Qualified pre-arranged meetings will be held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and Manila, Philippines. Registration fee for this trade mission is $600.
The International Program's partner, the Great Lakes Governors Council, has announced two trade missions they are planning for 2018.
The first is to Mexico from February 26 - March 2, 2018. The mission will make stops in Mexico City and Monterrey. All participants will have qualified pre-arranged B2B meetings at each stop. Participation fee is 1,350. Optional Market Research is $2,775.
The second is to South Africa & Tanzania from June 1-9, 2018. The mission will make stops in Johannesburg and Pretoria, South Africa and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. All participants will have qualified pre-arranged B2B meetings at each stop. Participation fee is 1,350. Optional Market Research is $3,700.

The NEPA Alliance is seeking applicants for the position of Community & Economic Development Specialist.
This is a full-time, salaried position. Duties involve technical support of the Nonprofit & Community Assistance Center, NEPA Grantmakers Forum, government and community development programs, including knowledge of program development, nonprofit administration, grant seeking/writing and fundraising. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree (Master's Degree preferred) in Public Administration, or related field, and 4 or more year's direct experience working within the nonprofit sector or as a consultant for nonprofits.
