Planting Trees: When Is
The Best To Plant?

Plant your deciduous B & B (ball and burlap) trees in Oklahoma when they go dormant.

Trees are dormant when their leaves turn their beautiful fall color and begin to drop.

November Maintenance Guidelines

After years of working in the industry and building a nursery business around Oklahoma's inclement weather, we are suggesting the following maintenance guidelines:

* Continue reseeding fescue.

* Apply ferti-lome Fruit Tree Fertilizer to fruit
and nut trees.

*  Plant container-grown and (B & B) trees when they begin to go dormant.

*  See Marcum's Nursery Guide on Best Timeline For Planting B & B Deciduous Trees.

*  Purchase spring flowering bulbs and refrigerate or keep cool in dry spot until mid-November through December for planting when ground temps are 60 degrees or below.

Leaves: Should They
Stay Or Go Away?

Raking seems like a never ending job. Ever wonder if you will see the end in sight?

Should you repurpose your leaves as leaf mulch, compost, or as a soil amendment?

Yes to all the above!

The fruits of your labor will not be in vain and your plants will love you in the spring. More tips!

Featured Shrubs
You won't walk past this shrub without noticing its deep lilac-violet berries that appear in October and November. The Purple Pride is a deciduous shrub that has long, arching, slender branches that dip downward touching the ground.
Add winter interest to your Oklahoma landscaping with camellias. Pictured is the Setsugekka Camellia. White ruffled blooms begin in November and continue throughout the winter.
Featured Tree
Frontier Elm
Wanting a new tree that provides you great shade and gorgeous color in the fall? This medium to fast growing deciduous tree displays a deep reddish purple foliage reaching heights up to 40' tall. Great for street and urban landscaping. It's Oklahoma proven and Chump's Choice!
Featured Perennial
This perennial is deer and rabbit resistant. Grows 10" - 12" tall and is great for mass plantings. Its yellow-green foliage provides winter interest and is an excellent filler for mixed containers.

Deanna's Thanksgiving Pumpkin Roll
shot of a pumpkin roll up close on white
Deanna's pumpkin roll was the hit at a local craft fair and was sold by the slice. One bite and they kept coming back for more. You will too!

She loves spending free time with her family and attending her grandkids' sports and competitive cheer activities. Deanna celebrated her 20th year with us in April, and we're proud she's part of our nursery family.
