A Word from the General Manager

Happy November! I love this time of year!

This past month was certainly a busy one for us here at the Aboriginal Chamber of Commerce. The Urban Reserves Event that we held at the RBC Convention Centre on October 8th was a huge success! This event has stirred up many questions about Urban Reserves. As a result Dave Angus and I have decided a follow up event is necessary. Stay tuned...

On November 17th the Aboriginal Chamber of Commerce is hosting the Aboriginal Youth Business Forum at the Neeginan Centre at 181 Higgins. Please encourage the youth to register and hear the success stories from the young entrepreneurs. This year our keynote speaker is Dr. Lisa Monkman. She has such an interesting and inspirational story to tell. Click here for information and to register.

November 20th marks the date of the 5th Annual Gala Event for the ACC. This year it will be held at the Club Regent Event Centre. We are so proud to announce that Ray Saint Germain and Marcy Markusa are returning as our emcees for this event. Our keynote speaker is Justice Murray Sinclair who is a phenomenal speaker. Entertainment will be provided by Don Amero and the Norman Chief Memorial Dancers. Don't miss out on this event. You may register for tickets by clicking here.

The ACC is proud to host students for job placements, internships and as casual employees. In the past we have had Joshua Henry, Commerce student from the Asper School of Business, Darion Smith, Aboriginal Governance student, both from the University of Manitoba and more recently Clara George from the Momentum Training Centre. All three have now moved on over the past few months to begin their careers and to continue their studies. Their contribution to the success of the ACC is very much appreciated. Now it's back to Amanda and I. They will be missed.

There are 51  more days until Christmas! Where has all the time gone? We will be hosting our Christmas Open House on Thursday, December 17th so mark your calendars!
Enjoy the weather, enjoy your families and remember there is always something to be thankful for!
