October 2017 Adoptions

Ninety (90) pets were adopted during the month of October 2017.  We would love to see that number double for November!  Can we do it?

If you have friends & family that are looking into adding a furry family member, we hope you will spread the word about adopting from a local area rescue or shelter!

OTHER SERVICES
As pet owners, we understand what it is like to lose a pet. Our pets are members of our family and deserve to be treated with dignity and respect.  The Humane Society of Charles County (HSCC) does not euthanize animals for the public; however, if your pet has died (or was euthanized at another facility), you may bring your pet to the HSCC and we will arrange for cremation. Our caring and compassionate staff will handle calling the crematorium for you and your family.

TRAP NEUTER RETURN -- WE CAN HELP!
Community Cats & TNR!

807 TNR cats have been through the community outreach program since we began trapping last October.  Already, the number of unwanted litters prevented by these surgeries number in the thousands.  We are working hard to end the senseless euthanasia of outdoor cats and kittens surrendered to area shelters and are so happy to see the difference TNR is making in our community.

If you have community cats that you care for, please EMAIL US

Help Community Cats This Winter!

We can help you stop the homeless cat population.  If you see or know of  any area  that has stray cats, we can trap, spay neuter, and return them to the area that they live.

The Petco Foundation and the Snyder Foundation for Animals has awarded our shelter two generous grants to help our community stop the overpopulation of feral or "community cats."  To read more about how we help spay/neuter community cats at NO COST TO YOU, CLICK HERE

With the onset of winter just around the corner, our friends at "Alley Cat Allies" has provided information on shelter options for feral/community cats.   To learn how you can build and make a place for a community cat to call home for the winter, CLICK HERE

 PET NEWS
Meet Booboo

November is "Adopt a Senior Pet" Month.  We'd like to share with you our senior cat "Booboo."  Booboo is a 12 year old cat who was surrendered to us when her owner passed away in February 2017.  She slowly acclimated to life in the free roaming cat room, but longs for those days where she lounges in a bright sunny spot in her very own home.  Booboo was a good girl in her last home, and was given free roaming rights to the house.  Booboo could be trusted to use her litter box, and enjoyed playing hide & seek with her owner.  We're hoping Booboo will catch the eye of someone looking for a older gentle cat, is that you?

You can visit Booboo any S unday-Tuesday 12:00pm - 6:00pm, or T hursday - Saturday 12:00pm-6:00pm.
