Commissioned by two of the Conservancy's fervent supporters, Carl and Mario, and bearing the room number for the ship's famous Duck Suite, these key tags are exact replicas of the passenger stateroom tags used on the SS
United States. Made in the USA to the same exacting standards as the originals, these are solid aluminum measuring 3 1/4 inches long (excluding the ring) and 1/8 inch thick, with laser-etched text injected with durable ink.

A Message from the Board of Directors
|
Dear Conservancy Supporters:
At the beginning of October, the SS United States Conservancy's Board of Directors made the difficult decision to engage a broker to explore the possible sale of the SS
United States. That decision was made in an effort to ensure that our organization was being as financially responsible as possible given the persistent challenge of covering the vessel's $60,000 monthly carrying costs. Since that time, there has been an outpouring of support worldwide that demonstrates the enduring importance of America's Flagship to a growing, global community. The ship has garnered major media attention from outlets at the local, national, and international levels. While the numbers are not yet final, the Conservancy has raised well over $100,000 as a result of this global call to action. These resources have given us some additional
time to advance our redevelopment plans in conjunction with several potential
partners. Those discussions and negotiations have picked up momentum in recent weeks as well.
This progress has been made thanks to your commitment, and we are still compiling the necessary information to help the Board fully and responsibly evaluate our current situation from a financial and redevelopment standpoint. As a result, the Board has opted to defer any additional determination about the ship's immediate future until later this month.
Clearly, your continued backing has given us some flexibility in our timing. During this week and next, we hope to further build on the momentum created over the past month to extend the life of the ship and to advance our ongoing efforts to ultimately save her. The recent outpouring of public and media support is a testament to the viability of our shared goals for America's Flagship. We are profoundly grateful for all you have done, and we ask that you continue to help us build momentum during this crucial time.

We would like to thank everyone who joined us at the Conservancy's "Star-Spangled Fundraiser" at Philadelphia's historic Union League on October 29. The event raised crucial funds for the SS
United States
and drew Conservancy supporters from as far away as Spain, California, Hawaii, Florida, and Illinois. The event drew nine
Conservancy chapter chairs from across the country and Europe, and beloved Southeastern US chapter chair,
Jordan Morris,
was with us in spirit. We were also honored to have former crew members in attendance, including

.
The evening's highlights included soaring musical perfomances of original songs inspired by the SS United States by renowned musicians Marc Jonson and Dan Landau. Rachel Neitzke's dance performance to Dan Landau's "To Every Journey" was spellbinding.

Good Morning SS. United States Conservancy.
Over the past several months I have followed the story of the majestic and elegant SS United States Conservancy. Its plight touched me and inspired me to make a difference in an effort to be a part of history and the future of this great American story.
While I come from a family that has been very blessed and prospered professionally and socially, I have led a much simpler life. At times I have struggled financially and other times I have been able to make a difference with what little I have financially.
It is through my desire to preserve a piece of our history so that future generations can enjoy the glory and the majesty of the SS United States
that I have decided to give toward its future.
I hope that the decision of those responsible will take into the fact that so many have given a little of themselves to save a part of our history, that being the SS United States
. Subsequently, I initially gave $40.00, then $30.00, and then another $35.00 and have pledged $30.00 a month as a recurring donation. It is this unparalleled and unwavering spirit that is unobstructed by boundaries that will allow us to save the SS United States
. We must not allow the boundaries standing in our way of saving the SS United States
to define us. Rather, it is our resolve to save and rebuild the SS United States
that must define us. Let's not say what we can't do, but what can do.
My pledge should be this example, and I hope that the SS United States Conservancy will honor that pledge and my commitment to the plight, the history, and the future of the SS United States
by continuing to move forward with the resolve and spirit that has guided each of you to this point.
