Mix it up with business partners at the Civic Center
Free winter networking event takes place 5-7pm, Tuesday, February 7

Following two successful Business Blenders in 2016, we are mixing it up a bit in 2017 by shifting the popular networking event from mornings to an early evening format.

The Winter Business Mixer will take place from 5-7pm on Tuesday, February 7, at the Novi Civic Center. The usual partners from the City of Novi, Novi Public Library, SCORE and Oakland County will be on hand along with some new faces from our Novi business community.

Nearly 200 people attended our two business networking events in 2016 and we hope to see it grow even larger this year. The event has proven to be a great way to connect people and share ideas.

The Winter Business Mixer will include appetizers, sparking juices and wine, along with the opportunity to learn about free resources available to all business owners, "pitch your business" videos and more.

The event is free, but businesses that would like to have their own table can do so for only $50. If you would like to have a table, contact Wenona Graham at [email protected] or call 248.347.0573.

Please pre-register for the event at investnovi.org. This helps us know how much food and drink are needed for the evening.
'How to engage someone in 15 seconds'
Michael Angelo Caruso to speak February 9 at Suburban Collection

You only get one chance at a first impression, and in business, that could make or break a deal.

Through a partnership with Novi Rotary, speaker Michael Angelo Caruso will help people make a great first impression, execute the perfect handshake, diffuse an angry customer, create value in the first 10 words you say and more through his presentation titled "How to engage someone in 15 seconds."

The presentation will take place  on Thursday, February 9, from noon-1:30pm at the Suburban Collection Showplace. Tickets are $20 and includes lunch.

Caruso teaches people how to be better speakers, and his previously clients have included Bank of America, Hallmark, Verizon, the United States Navy and the Nissan Corporation.

To register for this program, visit novirotary.org or call 248.767.1123. Buy your tickets now as seating is limited.
Red Level relocates to new headquarters in Novi
Move needed as company plans for continued growth

Red Level, a provider of business technology consulting, has outgrown its existing headquarters and is moving into a bigger location in Novi.

According to the company's blog, Red Level is expected to close the doors at its current location on Catherine Industrial Drive at the end of this month and move into a new company-owned 18,000-square-foot building at 40200 Grand River Avenue.

The high-tech, single story building provides Red Level with increased space for continued growth as well as easy access to area freeways.

"Our current office has worked very well for us for a long time, but we've hit the point where we're pushing it to its limits," said Red Level CEO Dave King in the blog. "We've expanded 3 times over the past 7 years, and there's no more room for new employees and new business. Novi is the town we call home, and we wanted to remain part of this community. This is a nurturing, welcoming environment for businesses like ours, and it's at the heart of a thriving tech hub. We're delighted that we were able to find a perfect new home here."
