Free networking event takes place 8-10am on Sept. 27 at Novi Library

C ome network with your peers and learn about the free business resources available in the area at the City of Novi's Fall Business Blender on Sept. 27.

Connecting people is one way the City works to help its business partners, and more than 100 people have already registered for the free event that takes place from 8-10am at the Novi Public Library.

Enjoy a strolling breakfast, opportunities to learn about free resources available to all businesses, "pitch your business" videos and much more.

Members of Novi's business team will be on hand to answer City-specific questions, as well as partners from Oakland County, SCORE and the Novi Public Library.

We ask that those interested in attending please register online  at investnovi.org so we have an accurate headcount for food. Anyone with questions is invited to contact Wenona Graham at 248-347-0573 or [email protected].
Paint your business pink for Breast Cancer Awareness
Encourage your employees to sign up for mobile mammography bus

The City of Novi is asking all businesses to join the fight against breast cancer by participating in the Pink Door Campaign during the month of October.

In an effort to raise awareness and support the cause, the City has also partnered with Providence Park Hospital to bring their mobile mammography screening center to the Novi Civic Center on Tuesday, October 18. Everyone in the community can take advantage of this service, which is free with most insurances and should only take 15 minutes to complete.

Those interested in signing up or learning more about the mobile unit can call 248-735-5628 or email [email protected].

Businesses that decorate for the month are encouraged to share their photos on social media using the hashtag #PinkNovi or email them to [email protected].
Walk-in business counseling available in Novi
One Stop Shop open first Thursday of each month at Novi Civic Center

Getting help starting your small business just got a little easier in Novi as the One Stop Shop Business Center has opened a satellite location for Walk-in/Startup Small Business Counseling at the Novi Civic Center.

This program, which is offered from 9:30-noon and 1:30-4:30pm the first Thursday of each month, provides new or potential business owners with one-on-one advice from an experienced business consultant.

Counselors offer direct answers to startup questions, suggest next steps and provide guidance on business planning tools.

Walk-in sessions are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Each session is limited to 15 minutes. Sessions take place at the Community Development Center Room, 45175 Ten Mile Road.

Novi Town Center open during Crescent construction
First stage of construction should be completed by end of September

Don't let the orange construction barrels scare you away. Businesses inside Novi Town Center - despite the road reconstruction project taking place on Crescent Boulevard - are open and accessible.

Crews are currently working on the eastbound lanes and patrons visiting the businesses south of Crescent are encouraged to do so by using either Crowe Drive from Novi Road or Town Center Drive from Grand River Avenue.

For patrons of Doubletree Hotel and the four restaurants on the north side of Crescent Boulevard (Famous Dave's, Olive Garden, Red Robin and TGI Friday's), access will be provided only from Novi Road using Crescent Boulevard.

This first stage of construction should be completed by the end of September, with the entire project being wrapped up by November 1.
