For dancers who have been doing argentine tango for 1 year or less, including first timers. If you have never experienced the magic of argentine tango, here is your chance to fall in love with it! If you have taken a few tango classes before and need to refresh what you have learned, join us!!! Our methodology is simple and clear, we guarantee you will "END" this bootcamp "HAPPY" and dancing Argentine Tango!

This class is an introduction to the fundamental of Argentine Tango as well as the concepts and vocabulary that will be used throughout our tango programs. We will focus on the basic elements of tango: the embrace, walking (parallel & cross system), forward & back ochos, the follower's cross, basic giros, musicality of course! and much more!! During the 4-week program we'll work on various exercises so that all the elements mentioned can be executed with comfort, thus paying close attention to posture, balance, the embrace, clean footwork, clear lead and follow, understanding where movement is created, and core awareness.

IMPORTANT
This program was conceived for those who are looking for a solid foundation and understanding of Argentine Tango. For us to cover all the material above mentioned, we require an even number of leaders and followers. If you are signing on as a single dancer, you will be place on waiting list, where you will be paired up with a partner on a first come first serve basis.

About UsArgentine natives Jeremias Juan and Mariela Barufaldi began dancing together in 2007, and have since developed a sensual and melodic style of Tango. They are stars of the shows "Masters of Tango" by Tango Fantasy, and have recently toured the U.S. with "This is Tango Now - Identidad", produced by Alfredo Minetti, Fernanda Ghi & Guillermo Merlo. Jeremias & Mariela are founders of the company TANGO AXIS, and created the shows "Eras del Tango" and "Tango A.C.T.", which they produced, directed and starred in. Their sensuality and quick feet has also given them the opportunity to perform in some of South Florida's best theaters, including the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, Olympia Theatre, Miami Dade County Auditorium, Aventura Arts & Cultural Center, Gusman Hall, Coral Springs Center for the Arts, Manuel Artime Theater and the Colony Theater to name a few. They have also danced and or choreographed with the following companies: Enamorados del Tango, The Unconservatory, Amor de Tango, Miami Tango Club, Tango Times and Dance South Florida Entertainment. Prior to their partnership, Jeremias was trained musically by his father since he was 7 years old, and attended the music programs of NWSA and FIU on full scholarships, while performing music throughout the United Sates. Mariela studied classical dances from a young age and intensified her theater studies in college, producing and directing numerous plays. After being captured by the Tango, they trained intensively with various tango masters, excelling as teachers and performers of Salon and Stage Tango. As teachers, Jeremias & Mariela are known for their spontaneity and technical approach, and are fluent in both english and spanish. They make an emphasis on correct social Argentine Tango, without prohibiting the full range of elements which are characteristic of the dance today. They have taught in the Miami Tango Fantasy Festival, Boston Tango Festival, and SalsaPlusTango Festival, as well as workshops throughout the U.S. Their teaching has become one of the strongest influence in the development and latest booming of the South Florida Tango Community, where they now reside.
