ELEMENTARY Educator Track
July 23rd - 25th | 8:30am - 3:30pm
Join us for 3 days of exciting sessions to learn how to promote standards-aligned nutrition education within your existing curricula. Receive free lesson plans, books, posters, online resources and other classroom materials. Come and learn how to:
- Teach students in the garden and outdoor areas.
- Promote nutrition education and environmental literacy.
- Incorporate physical activity in the classroom through the Golden State Energizers program.
- Use the new My Plate dietary guidelines that replace the Food Pyramid (New USDA regulations).
Visit school sites with school gardens and active nutrition education programs.
Cost: $150/3 days

MIDDLE SCHOOL Educator Track
July 23rd | 8:30am - 3:30pm
We are proud to offer a special 1-day hands-on training in our standards-aligned middle school curriculum for middle school teachers and administrators. Experience two outdoor garden lessons as well as tips on group management and engagement strategies for working with students in an outdoor setting. Educators will learn:
- Cooking lessons appropriate for use in traditional indoor classrooms based upon the social science standards.
- Tone setting in the kitchen, developmentally appropriate expectations, and creating a calm academic environment.
Cost: $75/ 1-day training

- Engage in fun physical activity that can be done with the entire family.
Day 2: Parent Involvement and Community Engagement - Learn how to get involved in your community to promote health and wellness. Opportunities include Family Garden Days, Cooking in the Classroom, and School-wide Health Events.
