Nancy Lewis of Ironton-Lawrence CAO
Nancy Lewis began her career with ILCAO in 1976 and has a long history of successes throughout Lawrence County. 
"Future generations who visit Community Action's Nancy Lewis Family Medical Center in Proctorville, Ohio, may wonder who Nancy Lewis was but, those who were blessed to work with her will never forget her," said Donald Gossett, executive director of ILCAO. "The continuous awards the Family Medical Centers have received for high quality care, and the integration of Behavioral Health and other empowering services through Community Action can be directly attributed to Nancy's efforts." ...  Read more

Breaking the cycle of poverty: Partnerships between agencies provides job readiness and training

PERRY COUNTY - 
Since 2016, Perry County's Comprehensive Case Management Employment Program (CCMEP) has been helping young adults find steady jobs and achieve their career goals. CCMEP is a partnership between the Perry County Department of Job and Family Services and Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP).

These agencies work closely together to help Perry County youth overcome barriers, land gainful employment, and ultimately break the cycle of poverty. ..  Read more
Community Action delivers winter coats

Akron Summit Community Action Inc. (ASCA) delivered 1,500 new winter coats for homeless children in need to Akron Public Schools (APS) 

Project RISE is a federally funded program through the Ohio Department of Education, a collaborative effort of APS, local shelters and the Akron community to provide supplemental educational services to children and youth experiencing homelessness. .. Read more

Community Action Partnership CA Month Toolkit is now available
The national Community Action Partnership has released the 2018 Community Action Month Toolkit. The toolkit includes a social media calendar, sample posts, tips for video production, proclamation and press release templates, fundraising ideas, and much, much more!
