New Name - New Initiative
With the appointment of the new Prime Minister came the creation of a few new government departments. The UKTI has now transitioned across to the Department for International Trade, DIT for short and pronounced dee-eye-tee apparently.

The DIT has put together a chemical sector initiative for CPhI Worldwide, 4-6 October 2016, Barcelona, the leading European ingredients and technologies showcase for the pharmaceuticals industry.

There are many ways to get involved in this initiative to showcase UK capability and enhance connections: use the UK information stand (2A64) as your meeting point, submit your company details to feature in the on-stand TV presentation, present your company details in the on-stand searchable UK chemicals directory, join our UK networking reception on 5 October and talk in advance to our chemicals and life science trade officers in Spain to identify relevant business partners and arrange meetings at the show. The conference takes place in Hatton Garden in London on the 13 October. Lunch and refreshments will be provided, and there will be plenty of time for networking.

Joining J A Kemp's in-house experts will be Shaun Stapleton, Head of Regulatory Affairs at ReNeuron, who will be discussing issues governing the protection of clinical data and the benefits of securing orphan drug status. Click here for more details.

Realising the full value of your asset - clinically and commercially - means thinking beyond the pure scientific value, even at the very early stages of development. Jim Hall of OBN Member Cello Health BioConsulting has written a thought piece that addresses many of the questions surrounding this vital topic.  Take a look at the article here.
