The event was held on Wednesday 14 December 2016 in the Assembly Room at the Oxford Town Hall. It was a truly wonderful and historic setting for our celebrations. BioBrum - A National Life Science Event Hosted by The BioHub Birmingham®
OBN Member The BioHub Birmingham®, Birmingham's flagship life science incubator, is hosting its first BioBrum Life Science event on 16th February 2017. Aimed at pre-revenue life science companies the free event will include talks on finance, intellectual property, effective use of professional networks and business development. There will also be an opportunity for one-to-one advice sessions with IP, finance and business planning specialists.
The event will be held at the Birmingham Research Park, which houses a community of research-led companies and is the home of The BioHub. All eligible companies registering for the event will have the opportunity to win six months free laboratory space at The BioHub*, and complementary business assistance provided by the Enterprise Acceleration team at the University of Birmingham. We are looking for highly disruptive and innovative approaches, and the projects will be judged on how novel they are, as well as their long term commercial potential. More details are available here

Save the Date: Newcastle Academic Health Partners Industry Month
OBN Member Invest Newcastle would like to draw your attention to two events taking place in March 2017: Newcastle Academic Health Partners Industry Month.
The first event is 'Molecular Diagnostics at Newcastle' on 02 March 2017. This event aims to bring industry together with the research community to identify potential collaboration opportunities around molecular diagnostics and image analysis. There will be a series of presentations from research groups about their latest discoveries. Followed by discussions and one to one interviews will be available for industry representatives to meet with researchers. The latest developments in image analysis will be showcased as will the services offered in the new Node Proximity Lab. This is a full day event at the Research Beehive, Newcastle University. Then 'Adopting MedTech for Patient Benefit' on 03 March looks to explain the evaluation evidence required to access the NHS market and the support available to generate this efficiently. The event will be of importance to companies and support organisations working on the development of medical technologies, including in vitro diagnostics. Delivered by the NIHR Diagnostic Evidence Co-operative (DEC) and the Newcastle Hospitals' Medical Physics Team, the event will include presentations from key figures from health research bodies, clinicians and industry.
