The Public Law Center's South East Asian Legal Outreach Program (SEALOP) provides free civil legal assistance at the BPSOS Center for Community Advancement, Inc., 13950 Milton Ave. Suite 301, Westminster, CA 92683.    
Clinics take place on the second Saturday of every month from 12:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. 

Volunteer attorneys and Vietnamese-English translators are needed.

APPLICATION DEADLINE June 15th - 2019 Baker Donelson Diversity Scholarship
Baker Donelson is committed to fostering an inclusive environment where the individual differences among individuals are understood, respected, appreciated, and recognized as sources of strength of the Firm, believing these qualities enrich the working environment.

With this in mind, Baker Donelson announces that the 2019 Baker Donelson Diversity Scholarship application is now available. Three scholarships will be awarded to three diverse rising 2L law students who will complete their first year of law school by June 2018. Recipients will be awarded a six-week, salaried 2L Summer Associate position for the summer of 2019 in one of the Firm's offices. Additionally, each recipient will be awarded $10,000, which will be paid prior to the student's third year of law school, to help defray the cost of law school tuition and related expenses.

June 21st - PLC & Chapman Law School - Help Survivors of Domestic Violence: Upcoming Training
The Public Law Center (PLC) and Chapman Law School are hosting a presentation all about Domestic Violence Prevention Act Protective Orders and representing DV Survivors in Orange County on June 21st from 5 pm-8:30 pm. Cost is free for practitioners with the commitment to help in at least 1 PLC pro bono case within the next year. This course will provide 3.0 CLE hours. Food will be provided. Location: Chapman Law School, One University Drive, Room 237A in Orange.

June 22nd - CWL 5th Annual "Elect to Run"
This non-partisan program was developed and organized by California Women Lawyers ("CWL") to educate and encourage women to run for public office. The program allows attendees the opportunity to hear from candidates, elected officials and organizations who provide tools and support for running for office. This innovative program received the 2016 Outstanding Member Program from the National Conference of Women's Bar Associations. July 13 - OCWLA Promoting Equity: The Influence Of Unconscious Gender Bias 
The Orange County Women Lawyers Association (OCWLA) will present an Elimination of Bias program with L. Song Richardson, Dean and Professor of Law, UC Irvine School of Law, entitled "Promoting Equity: The Influence Of Unconscious Gender Bias". Friday, July 13th from 11:45 AM - 1:30 PM at Andrei's Conscious Cuisine, 2607 Main Street, Irvine, 92614. Free Valet Parking at Andrei's with event registration.

Many individuals believe in gender equality and reject discrimination in any form. Yet,  unconscious mental processes which are shaped over time by history and culture can lead us to view the world through a biased lens and to behave contrary to our deeply held  egalitarian values. Dean Richardson will discuss these unconscious mental processes and how they can influence decision-making and judgment. She will end with some recommendations for safeguarding against the influence of these unconscious biases. The presentation includes a catered lunch. One Hour Elimination of Bias MCLE Credit.

The candidate should have at least seven years of regulatory and/or transactional experience; some litigation experience preferred.
