Students Present Work to U.S. Department of State in D.C.
This semester, associate professor of architecture Marjorie Callahan and students in her Methods X class partnered with the U.S. Department of State on the Diplomacy Lab research project, "Exporting the American Entrepreneur Mindset to Africa." Recently, members of the class traveled to Washington, D.C., to present their research to key stakeholders, including members of the Dept. of State, the Bureau of African Affairs, the Office of Commercial and Business Affairs and USAID Entrepreneurship Stakeholders. Among the students who presented in D.C. were Arianna Hawkins, James Spear, Snehalakshmi Varadarajan, Nikki Self, Nima Ferdosi, Kristin Higgins, Soha Rangie, Niloufar Soltanimofrad, Emily Homan, and Suchithra Dhanaveerapandian.

Gibbs College of Architecture Students Participate in OU's Big Event
Gibbs College of Architecture student representatives of the American Institute of Architecture Students and Interior Design Student Association took part in OU's Big Event, the largest student-led community service event at the university. They volunteered at Lakeview Elementary in Norman, helping teachers prepare to welcome back students after the statewide teacher walkout.

Collin Abdallah presents sOUnd Lab acoustical research at OU Undergraduate Research Day
Fifth year undergraduate student Collin Abdallah recently presented sOUnd Lab acoustical research at OU's Undergraduate Research Day. Collin shared his involvement in the Spring 2017 acoustics course, the Gallery Research Project data collection, and his Independent Study course outcomes focused on acoustical design through EASE software. His faculty adviser is Associate Professor Daniel Butko.

Regional and City Planning Assistant Professor Honored with Presidential Professorship
Congratulations to Dr. John Harris, Regional and City Planning assistant professor, for being honored with a President's Associates Presidential Professorship during the OU Faculty Awards this year!
