Architecture Student Named Finalist in International Design Competition

Architecture student Collin Abdullah's submission to the international Young Architects Competitions' "Pinocchio Children's Library" challenge was recently listed among the finalists. The competition asked participants to design  "the first and largest children's library inspired by the fairy tale of Pinocchio." Congratulations, Collin!

Architecture Faculty Member Participates in "Crafting Minimalism" Panel 
Visiting architecture professor Tiziana Proietti recently participated in a panel discussion entitled "Crafting Minimalism: Human Space in a Digital world," hosted by Rizzoli New York. She was joined on the panel by Dan Howarth, U.S. editor of  Dezeen , the design magazine listed on  Time  magazine's "Design 100" list of the "most influential forces in global design," and interior designer Magdalena Keck. The well-attended event featured a discussion about "how interior design can succeed in embracing minimalism while maintaining a human and tactile environment in an age dominated by virtual interactions."

Architecture Faculty Member Named University of Oklahoma Nominee for National Academic Advising Award

Architecture faculty member Marjorie Callahan is this year's University of Oklahoma campus-wide nominee for the  National Academic Advising Association's Outstanding Academic Advisor Award. Callahan, who recently presented "Exporting the American Entrepreneurship Mindset:  Developing Entrepreneurship Education in Africa," at the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC) Conference, is the graduate liaison for the Division of Architecture. Congratulations Professor Callahan!
Design-Build Team Takes Second Place at the ASC Region 5/TEXO Competition in Dallas

Congratulations to Design-Build team members Scott Kleinschmidt, Raisul Islam, Trent Leonard, Orion Couch, Ky Sandefeur, and James Spear! This team of Construction Science and Architecture students took second place at the ASC Region 5/TEXO competition. Team coach was Dr. Tammy McCuen.
