A tanker family grows in Brooklyn
Partner vessel is now alongside!
LOUIS C alongside MARY A. WHALEN

We now have a tiny tanker family - a large leap forward for PortSide programs.

The 90' LOUIS C is being converted from lube oil tanker to self-propelled barge working in marine maintenance. This is the newest addition to Matt Perricone's fleet. Perricone's other vessels are the Brooklyn Barge, a bar restaurant that offers boating activities and involved in towing and training.  His Diamond Marine Services is the only firm in the country offering training to get a towing endorsement.

Matt Perricone is noteworthy for using his vessels for commercial maritime service and public programming.

In that spirit, he and PortSide will partner to use the LOUIS C to grow more marine training programs for youth and adults.
Perricone will also be helping restore the MARY A. WHALEN.

Please donate now to support the expansion of activities like these!
