The Refugee Family We Are Sponsoring Has Arrived!
|
|
The refugee family Ohr Kodesh has committed to support arrived from Iraq late Wednesday night and was met at the airport by OKC volunteers and representatives of the resettlement agency. Thanks to our wonderful community, we have fully furnished an apartment and stocked it with groceries, toiletries and cleaning supplies, and decorated it with welcome pictures and signs made by children in the Early Childhood Center.
We do not need any additional furnishings at this time and will post specific needs as they arise.
The most urgent need now is financial; if you would like to contribute money to help cover the family's basic needs over the next 6 months, please see
http://ohrkodesh.org/refugee-project for more information on the project and how to donate.
We also welcome volunteers to help drive family members to appointments and to take them on outings, as well as supporting other needs. If you have not already signed up and would like to volunteer in some capacity to assist in the resettlement of this family, please go to
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1BOWIbRJxfdisw-a0wrdSYsxb77moeb7M6AAtBxoisUU/edit#gid=0 to enter your name, email, phone number, area of interest, and anticipated level of involvement. Our coordinator will get back to you with next steps.
PLEASE NOTE: For the period of August 10-13, Jan Feldman (
[email protected]) has graciously offered to field questions regarding this project. Otherwise, contact
[email protected].
