Fall Happenings at Old Friends

FROM MICHAEL...

The Breeders' Cup always brings back great memories. Whether it's Black Tie Affair and Alphabet Soup winning the Classic or our four Sprint winners: Precisionist, Gulch, Amazombie, and Cajun Beat. The greatest day in American racing brings the best to run against the best every year. Now, I always look at the entries for both handicapping information and, more importantly, speculating on whom might be a future Old Friends resident once their racing and breeding careers are complete.

Special thanks to Hall of Famers--trainer Bill Mott and jockey Jerry Bailey--for signing the limited-edition, commemorative Maker's Mark/Breeders' Cup Champions for Charity "Cigar" bottle.

A few are still available, and information about ordering can be found  HERE

All the money will be shared by Old Friends and The Edwin J. Gregson Foundation. For those who have already purchased one, we thank you for your support!

(PS: You don't have to be at Breeders' Cup to collect your bottle--other options are available.)

Keeneland's 5th Annual Sporting Auction will be held Sunday November 19th at 2 pm at the Keeneland Sales Pavilion, and an item in the catalog will benefit Old Friends. "Sheep in a Meadow," a 36" x 57" oil on board by German artist August Friedrich Albrecht Schenk has been consigned by our friend Jim Smith, and proceeds from the sale will help the horses. You can see the catalog and register to bid online by  CLICKING HERE  .

If you're in the neighborhood, be sure to drop by the Old Friends gift shop for early Christmas presents.  We have a limited supply of the specially packaged Game On Dude and War Emblem coffees available and they make a great gift. If you're not local, not to worry, you can also order these beautifully package d coffees by visiting the Old Friends website  CLICK HERE  or directly from the Erie Coffee Roasters website  CLICK HERE  and check out the Equo Vitae collection.

The coffees are available as beans or custom ground, and a portion of the proceeds supports the horses of Old Friends.

Most importantly, we're making tremendous progress on the new property so we'll be able to provide more spots for more of these great athletes. Thanks to everyone for all your help and support, both financial and otherwise. Without you, we are nothing.
