All are invited to attend!  Even if you just come for the scones and socialization, that's okay too -- although we'll bet you just might enjoy hearing about some of the other amazing classes that went on this spring, too!

We will meet in the Michel Student Center Ballrooms on Wednesday, May 10, at 9:00 a.m.  We hope to see you there!

SVA
2017 Student Volunteer Award Recipients

Each year OLLI selects two Bradley students who exhibit exceptional volunteering effort and presents them with the OLLI Student Volunteer Award.  Your generous donations throughout the year make this possible!

Last week at the student awards ceremony, OLLI President Larry Trollope and Vice-President Jennifer Bass met this year's winners, Jessica Lach and Alicia Petramale, pictured above.

The winners will attend tomorrow's Registration Open House, at 9:00 a.m. in the Michel Student Center Ballrooms.  Join us in congratulating them on being recognized for their community service!

World of Wonder, a summer camp for gifted and talented students run by Continuing Education, needs your recyclable items!  Our teachers are coming up with creative activities to challenge students' higher order thinking processes, and below is a list of recyclable supplies they would love to have.

- rinsed soup cans
- take-out pizza boxes (a little grease is okay)

(We have all we need of the following items: newspaper, grocery bags, empty toilet paper and paper towel tubes, water bottles, egg cartons, shoe boxes. Thank you to all who donated!)

If you are able to collect any of the above items, we will take them!  You may bring them to the Continuing Education building (corner of Main and University streets) any time between 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday.

In collaboration with the Hult Center for Healthy Living's Encore program, 50 Plus News & Views magazine, and the Fondulac Park District, OLLI will host a special presentation of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers on the 7-story Giant Screen Theater in the Peoria Riverfront Museum.  The 1954 comedic musical follows the playful story of a backwoodsman who brings his new wife back to his Oregon cabin, where she is surprised to fins his six brothers who want to get married, too.  Nominated for Best Pictures in 1954, it is known for its outstanding dance sequences.

Following the film, we will reflect on the choreography and theatrical quality of the musical in a moderated discussion with Robin Hunt, member of the EastLight Theatre group.
