Hear four speakers - each for one hour - talk about a significant personal accomplishment.  Jaci Willis, one of very few women sculptors in the country who has created lifesize bronze sculptures doing all of the work herself.  John Dust, OLLI member and volunteer, who was deeply involved with Land of Lincoln Honor Flight.  Martha and Jeff Huebner, who own Trefzger's and renovated an historic building (especially if you were not able to take the Learning Trip to Trefzger's).  Johnathan Wright, who promotes greater Peoria's performances, professions, pastimes, philanthropists, and places at Peoria Magazines.

You'll love the fun atmosphere and strong sense of camaraderie, not to mention the plentiful snacks and refreshments to fuel your quest for knowledge!

T our a Local Whiskey and Bourbon Distillery

Their family has been making whiskey since the Prohibition when Peoria was known as the Whiskey City.  Join us on this tour to learn about how the owners of J.K. Williams Distilling have revived the business of their great-great-grandfather with a modern twist.

J.K. Williams Distilling (Activity Level 2)
Thursday, January 25
11:15 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

We'll visit J.K. Williams Distilling, a distillery formed to bring craft whiskey- and bourbon-making back to the Peoria area.  During our tour of the facility in East Peoria, we'll learn how J.K. Williams was a man ahead of his time, stubbornly refusing to sacrifice quality when crafting his bootleg whiskey.  We'll also learn (and taste!) how the family recipe is being revived four generations later, using local grain to produce whiskey and bourbon, occasionally infused with unique flavors such as fruits and coffee beans.
