Resident Architecture Committee (RAC) 
The next RAC meeting will be held on Thursday, July 20 at 7:30 pm at The Other Barn.  Sign-in begins at 7:00 p.m.

RAC meets the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month.

Farewell Road Traffic Calming
Community Meeting, Wed. July 12, 7:00 p.m.

Farewell Road Traffic Calming  
A community meeting will held at The Other Barn on July 12 at 7:00 p.m.  The meeting will review the current initiative underway to have street humps installed on Farewell Road.  A representative from the County's office of Traffic and Engineering will present the plan and proposed location of the humps and give details about the Traffic Action Committee (TAC) and County role in this initiative. Oakland Mills Community Pool Party
Wednesday, August 2nd 
6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.  
Pool location disclosed when tickets are picked up.
Tickets are FREE and available at The Other Barn. Ages 3 and up need a ticket to attend. 
Ages 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Open to Oakland Mills residents only.

Howard County Bikeshare has begun!

Howard County Food Bank Seeks Donations
During the school year, may families rely on free and reduced meals at school to cover the food gap.This means that summer can be a difficult and scary time for children who don't have access to enough food. But it doesn't have to be this way.

Each summer, the Howard County Food Bank sees an increase in family visits. The food bank is committed to serving these families, but help is needed!

Donate cash.
Monetary donations are used to purchase perishable items (milk, eggs, and meat) and non-perishable items at a deep discount from wholesalers.

Donate food.
Food donations can be brought to the Howard County Food Bank located at: 9385 Gerwig Lane, Columbia. Donation hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00 am-3:00 pm.

Market Hours are Sunday from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.  Please stop by the market and also support our local Oakland Mills Village Center merchants.

The farmers market is located in the corner of the Oakland Mills Village Center lot near the Interfaith Center.

Exploring Columbia On Foot, Outdoor Walks

The walks will be held on nine Thursdays and on Saturday from March through October.  Most walks will begin at 10 am; the walk at The Mall in Columbia begins at 8:30 am.  Registration is not required.

Free Pool Parties for Middle and High School Students
Columbia Association's  Youth and Teen Center is hosting two free pool parties this July - one for middle school students and one for high school students. Each pool party will be at Locust Park Pool, 8995 Lambskin Lake in the village of Long Reach, and will include a diving and swimming contest, raffles, music, snacks and more. Registration is required by calling  410-992-3726.
Middle school students: Friday, July 7, 7-10pm. 
Middle School Registration is now closed.

High school students: Friday, July 14, 7-10pm. Registration deadline: Thursday, July 13 at 5pm.
