Join over 150 performers from seven Howard County high schools and professional local soloists as we start the holiday season with an Oakland Mills tradition. Holiday music featuring a full orchestra and choir, dancers, readings by on-air radio personalities from WBAL Radio as well as a visit from our very own Santa will get your toes tapping and lift your spirits. Safety Matters:
  • Dogs on School Property - While many of us love our furry friends, please remember that dogs are not allowed on school property during school hours. This is especially applicable during arrival an dismissal. Thank you for help in keeping our students safe!
  • Safety on Stevens Forest Road - Families are parking on the west side of Stevens Forest Road directly across from the school and then crossing the street at that location. This action is dangerous! Please use the designated crosswalks or tunnel at Kilimanjaro Road or the crosswalk across from the pool to cross Stevens Forest Road. Safety is our first priority. Thank you for your cooperation!

Thunder Hill Elementary School (THES)
 
Two THES students' artwork has been selected to be displayed at Howard County Public School System's art show, "Honoring the Process" at the Walters Art Museum. The exhibit will run from November 29th to December 10th.

Congratulations to Ms. Atkinson, who was selected as the Maryland Art Education Association, Howard County Exemplary New Elementary Visual Arts Teacher of 2017.

HC DrugFree
HC Drug Free is looking for parent/adult volunteers. Please email Admin@hcdrugree.org to volunteer. Include your availability and specify whether you can type, are willing to drive to pharmacies or liquor stores, and/or have any special skills or interests. 

Blessings in a Backpack
Please support Talbott Springs in this Community Outreach program. One hundred percent of the money raised goes to purchase food. To support Blessings in a Backpack, visit  blessingsinabackpack.org and select Talbott Springs. All donations are tax deductible. We thank you for your support for our students in need.  

A-OK Mentoring 
Make a difference! Help enhance the academic and social development of identified Howard County elementary school students in schools near you through a consistent, supportive relationship with a child.  Volunteers must be available weekday, daytime hours to meet one-on-one with an assigned student during the school day or with students in small groups in afterschool programs.
