OMHS needs help caring for over 40
dogs

There has recently been a huge influx of dogs who need help. The care and medical bills for over 40 dogs is staggering.
 We desperately need your help.

Sadly, sometimes accidents happen and tragedy can occur.  Leo was just 2 months old when his hip was fractured from a fall. He required strict rest until he was big enough to have the critical surgery he needed. Leo needs your support as he slowly recovers.

A desperate situation must have led to Millie being abandoned outside the OMHS in the middle of a cold night. An examination of this lovely 11 yr old Standard Poodle revealed that she had a mammary tumor, common in unspayed female dogs.  Surgery was performed to remove the mass and Millie was spayed.  While half of mammary tumors are malignant, thankfully Millie's was benign.

Looking at  Angel's sweet face, you would never know the pain she was in, but when Angel could not extend her leg we knew she needed help.  Angel received the surgery to repair her damaged hip and is now undergoing rehabilitation to help her recover.

On Friday April 14th, 16 dogs  were brought to the Oakville & Milton Humane Society by our officers, following a police investigation. The dogs are now safe in the care of OMHS. Due to the ongoing investigation, photos of the dogs cannot be shown at this time.

Many of the dogs at OMHS would not get a second chance at other shelters. OMHS Dog Trainers develop individualized programs and a profile that outlines each dog's strengths and skills to work on, and oversee the 65 trained dog handling volunteers. Your support allows us to continue this vital program which helps dogs like Chica and Soca.

Hailey suffered extensive injuries when she was hit by a car. With a broken pelvis and a fractured vertebra, she was in agonizing pain and unable to walk. The road to Hailey's recovery is long and the extensive care and surgery required is costly. Your generosity will provide the care she needs.

YOU give the animals hope. You are the joy that Angel and her friends are looking for.

You can maximize your impact by becoming a monthly supporter. You will make a difference 365 days a year. Every gift is important - every dollar helps.

Thank you for having such a generous heart.
