OML Hosts Municipal Clerks, Treasurers and Finance Officers in State Certification and Handbook Training

Last week, municipal clerks, treasurers and finance officers attended the OML MC&T certification and handbook training.  The event was held at the new Hilton Garden Inn & Edmond Conference Center.

In 2005, the look and feel of Broken Arrow's Main Street began to change as the City Council embarked on an expansive downtown revitalization plan. The city created a tax increment financing district (TIF) to help start funding improvements, as well as voters approved general obligation bonds in both 2011 and 2014 to continue the revitalization process.

Next New Officials Institute March 15th in Lawton, Two New June Dates Added
On March 15th OML will host a New Officials Institute at the Great Plains Technology Center in Lawton. Throughout the year OML provides an intensive educational program specifically tailored for newly elected and appointed officials as well as experienced officials who want to keep up-to-date on municipal issues. Also, two new dates have been added: June 14th at Rose State College in Midwest City and June 28th at Tulsa Tech, Lemley Campus in Tulsa.

Register for the Emergency Preparedness Workshop in Idabel on March 16th
OML is excited to partner with Oklahoma Emergency Management (OEM) to provide the Emergency Preparedness Workshop. 

Emergencies can hit anytime in Oklahoma. Is your community prepared? Join OML and OEM for this one day workshop on emergency management and planning. There is NO CHARGE for this event and is offered as a service to our municipalities. The training will be conducted by Oklahoma Emergency Management and is designed for Elected Officials, Municipal Staff, and Emergency Managers to attend together.

OML and the Oklahoma Municipal Utility Providers (OMUP) are holding the Water/Environmental Summit on March 16th at the Rose State College Professional Training Center in Midwest City. This summit provides essential updates on water and environmental issues for cities and towns. Plan now to attend this popular half-day event that will take place at the Oklahoma State Capitol on March 27th. Hosted by OML and the Mayors Council of Oklahoma, you will have the opportunity to network with other municipal officials, hear the latest information on legislative issues, visit with your legislative representatives about municipal issues and meet the student winner of the "If I Were Mayor" essay contest. This event is free for OML members and lunch will be served.
