Dr. Christian Braneon

We'd like to introduce OUE's newest staff member, Dr. Christian Braneon. Dr. Braneon is now the Assistant Director of Service Learning & Partnerships for the Center for Serve-Learn-Sustain
.
He comes to us from the Office of Environmental Justice and Sustainability at the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA), where he worked as a physical scientist. His work there focused on enhancing environmental justice and sustainability outreach, training, and technical assistance with grass-roots and community organizations, government officials and other stakeholders. He also served as co-director of the inaugural Environmental Justice Academy for community leaders in Region 4. Prior to joining the USEPA, Christian worked as an engineering consultant specializing in water resources engineering, data science, and sustainability.

Susan Belmonte

Susan was recently awarded a Fulbright U.S. Scholar grant for the 2016/2017 year.
The Fulbright Program aims to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries, and it is the flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government. Susan will leave for Germany in October.
Dr. Roberta Berry
Director,
Honors Program
Dr. Berry was chosen to be one of the 16 participants in the inaugural emerging leadership program. The program was created by the Office of the Provost in partnership with the Institute for Leadership and Entrepreneurship (ILE) and the Office of Graduate Education and Faculty Development. The nine-month program will include monthly workshops, small group work, self-assessments, and more. Dr. Berry was chosen by Provost Rafael Bras and an advisory committee from a pool of 62 colleagues. A more in-depth story was also featured in this month's edition of "The Whistle".
