GTOPI.com AWARDED PURCHASE ORDER FROM
VA HOSPITAL
Founder of Global Tattoo Orthotic
Prosthetic Innovations LLC (GTOPI.com), Dan Horkey of Port Orchard
was awarded a purchase order in September from the VA Hospital
Durham, NC to provide a custom restoration design on a prosthetic
leg for USMC Veteran Amputee displaying an American Flag, the Bald
Eagle and USMC Crest.
The
custom restoration process starts when a favorite color and artwork
is chosen and then emailed to Horkey.

SPOTLIGHT: Turning Prostheses Into Works of
Individualized Art
Prosthetic-tattoo
entrepreneur Dan Horkey believes he's a step ahead of the
competition.
"I'm the original," said
Horkey, who's just started a business to turn clients' artificial
legs and arms into pieces of customized art. "I want to add color
to people's lives."
Horkey lost the lower half
of one of his own legs in a terrible motorcycle accident in 1985.
Two of the protheses he uses today have fiery orange and yellow
flames shooting up the sides. Both resemble detailing that might be
found on souped-up cars, and Horkey actually calls on some of those
car-detailing techniques in his business, Global Tattoo Orthotic
Prosthetic Innovations.
