Isotope Dating and the Flood, Part 2
Up to now in our yearlong study of geology we have seen that the intercontinental extent of many rock layers and the discontinuities between them indicate that intercontinental scale geologic
events generated most of the rock layers, not local processes.
We have also seen that many aspects of the fossil content of these rock layers indicate that the destruction and redeposition of a previously existing and very diverse ecology is the best explanation for the observed fossil record.
Last month we looked at the substantial radiocarbon content of all fossil bearing rock layers. Since radiocarbon is known to decay away in less than a hundred thousand years,
its near universal presence in all of the fossil bearing rock layers indicate that the fossils, rock layers, and the processes that put them in place are all less than a hundred thousand years old. Some will challenge that this radiocarbon is due to contamination. But the data will in turn challenge them to explain how that contamination could happen in a hundred thousand year time frame - no one has been yet able to do that at all.
On October 4th
we will look at the slow decaying isotopes in the rock layers. These also exist almost universally in the rock layers and using the standard conventional assumptions they produce dates
that are very old, hundreds of millions or billions of years!
This slow decay isotopic content of the rock layers is in sharp contrast with all of the data in the paragraphs above. Could some of the conventional assumptions be faulty? Might there be even more to it than that? To answer these questions we will view and discuss the 2017 IGH Conference lecture of geologist Dr. Andrew Snelling. Dr. Snelling will give us a tour of the error sources associated with these slow decay isotope dating methods.
Most geologists know that there are many errors
possible for the older simpler "model age' method but they are under the impression that the newer and more sophisticated "isochron" method eliminates errors and is essentially self-checking. We will find that there are three error sources that do occur and will fool the isochron method. Dr. Snelling will show many cases where it is clear that the physical distribution of the isotopes makes it clear that there will be substantial dating errors.
We will also look at some special hot topics like Vulcan's Throne, diamond dates, zircon's dual clocks, and Steens mountain's quick flip.
The bottom line
is that most of the slow decay isotope products were generated during the early days of creation before life was created, not by vast ages of "deep time". The fast decay products

were produced after the creation of life. The early ecology on Earth was ripped up along with thousands of feet of rock layers during a violent intercontinental scale Flood event. As the energy of successive flood surges was dissipated, the groups of rock layers we see today were progressively laid down. Examples of Important YEC Scientific Evidences
Some major examples of physical evidence we point to include:
- Remains of original soft tissue still found in dinosaur bones. Along with that tissue is C-14 that would decay completely away in less than a hundred thousand years, a tiny fraction of the dinosaur fossil's supposed age.
- For many years geologists have found C-14 in fossil carbon throughout the fossil record.
- The origin of the information and molecular machinery in the first living self-reproducing cell remains a complete enigma for biologist and biochemists.
- In the origin of the universe, big bang theory is being recognized as a dead end by increasing numbers of secular scientists. The hypothesized inflation has nothing to start it, drive it forward, or stop it. Without inflation fatal flaws appear with the absence of predicted antimatter, magnetic monopoles, or any means for the whole universe to come to the same precise background temperature. Then the formation of the first stars is as enigmatic as the origin of the first biological cell. Dark matter and dark energy are as enigmatic as the deep space motions they are needed to explain.
At the root of all standard science are many assumptions that may be quite incorrect. At the top is that there is no God. Another is that present process can be used to explain everything in the past. When we look at a canyon we are taught to assume the river at the bottom cut the canyon. But perhaps tectonic events made the canyon and there is a river at the bottom because water always flows downhill. At the root of big bang theory is a pure assumption that has been named the "Cosmological Principle". Perhaps inaccuracies there are responsible for the big bang's multitude of problems.
