Opportunity to Serve

We've got a pretty big need just around the corner. Our trailer team will be losing 2 of the 3 pull and set up folks after December.

We need to have those folks replaced in order to continue to have equipment for Sunday morning service.

Please see Terry Kim about this opportunity!

We will train on the how-tos of all of it.

Does the church have an official Bible?

The United Methodist Church does not have an "official" version or translation of the Bible.  Rather, United Methodists affirm the  usefulness of a number of translations and versions  as being helpful for study, teaching, memorization and other purposes, since each sheds a slightly different light in translating or paraphrasing the original languages and manuscripts.

We are the people of the United Methodist Church.

Notes from the Road is one of the ways that we at Journey stay connected. Connections and community are keys to a vital church ... and are part of what keeps us bound together in the service of Christ.

So, welcome to you as we journey together on the road where we as a s pirit-filled, forward-leaning community of believers seek to become the hands and feet of Jesus.
Bits and Bytes
Be Prepared
Terry Kim

The official motto of the Boy Scouts of America (as well as the Girl Scouts of America) is "Be Prepared".

In its entirety, and according to the official Boy Scout training guide, the motto advises each scout to be prepared, which means to always be in a state of readiness in mind and body in order to do one's duty.  The motto is especially interesting in that it mentions the preparedness of both the body and mind in being ready to perform one's duty.

A good life principle is to always be prepared. It's never a bad idea to prepare. In every instance of life, preparedness is a virtue, and a key element of success. When we worship God, we must be prepared to come into His presence. We need to fully prepare ourselves, in mind, body, and spirit, to receive God's word. It's never a bad idea to take a few moments to calm our hearts and ready ourselves, mentally, physically, and spiritually, before we worship.

Let's always be prepared to hear from God.
Devotional Resources

What does your daily time with God look like?

Do you spend time with a formal daily devotion? Do you journal the Bible? Do you spend a part of each day preparing for a group Bible study? Do you devote time for prayer and meditation? Do you mix it up? Are you in a rut? Do you wonder where to begin?

The great news is that there's no right way and there are loads of resources and ideas to use to find the way that works within your personal walk!

Here are a few!

Between mainstream and social media, it's easy in our connected world to feel pretty hopeless and helpless about the state of humanity. There is so much anger and hate. So much angst and division.  Sometimes a bit of perspective - a step away - is the order of the day.
