October 2011

Dear Sister,

You may be wondering what happened to the alumnae group since the last newsletter you received was in May.  I apologize!  I became the proud mommy of a future Chi Omega legacy, Aimee Katherine DeRosa, on June 10, and I have been pretty slack about my Chi Omega duties lately.

I'm not the only Exec member with baby news.  Susanne Cash gave birth to Hadley Vivian Cash on July 28.  Also, for those of you who remember Jen Hirsch (our former President who moved to Indiana), she welcomed Abigail Rose Hirsch to the world on September 11.  In addition, Katherine Moore (our former Treasurer who moved to Kentucky) is going to have a boy any day now, and Amy Anderson (current At Large Exec member) is having a boy January 31!  Oh my!  What is up with the pomegranate water that our Exec members are drinking?

Anyway, now that I'm getting settled into motherhood, I have lots of Chi Omega news to get you caught up on.  So, keep reading!

Secretary Stacy Boyce Attends the Alumnae Chapter Leadership Conference

Stacy at ACLCOur Alumnae Chapter Secretary Stacy Boyce was chosen to attend the Alumnae Chapter Leadership Conference at Chi Omega National Headquarters on October 14-16, and she came back with some inspiration and great ideas for our chapter!

The main points that Stacy brought back from the conference are:

1)  Chi Omega is a thriving national organization.

2)  You are an essential piece of that organization!

She says, "You are what makes our chapter and national organization tick.  By growing our local Chi Omega alumnae chapter, we are making our national Chi Omega a stronger organization."

Sips and Strokes Art Creations

Check out the pictures of recent Cinco de Chi O events on our website's Photos page.  On August 5, we went to the Velo Fellow for a Girls' Night, and on October 5, we visited  Sips and Strokes to create our own paintings.  Fun times!

If you missed out on these events, mark your calendar for our next one! We have a football day planned at Wild Aces in downtown Greer for November 5.  The time is TBA.  (We're waiting to find out the football schedules.)  We'll send out a formal invitation soon.

Thank you for taking the time to read this newsletter!  I hope to see as many of you at our next event as can possibly attend.  :)

Sincerely,

Debby DeRosa
