The Michigan Attorney General's office recently announced OK2SAY is now available in Michigan. OK2SAY is a student safety initiative which allows students to confidentially report tips on potential harm or criminal activities directed at school students, school employees, and schools. The initiative has been very successful in other states. It uses a comprehensive communication system to facilitate tip sharing among students, parents, school personnel, community mental health service programs, the Department of Human Services, and law enforcement officials about harmful behaviors that threaten to disrupt the learning environment. Tips can be submitted 24 hours per day, 365 days per year by telephone at 8-555-OK2SAY (8-555-652729), text message (652729), email ([email protected]), mobile app, or via the OK2SAY website. For more information, visit www.michigan.gov/ok2say.

'Stop.Think.Connect.' during Cyber Awareness Month

Sponsored by the Department of Homeland Security, this October marks the 11th Annual National Cyber Security Awareness Month. The designation is designed to raise awareness about cyber security and increase the resiliency of the nation in the event of a cyber incident. The Internet is part of everyone's life, every day. We use the Internet at work, home, for enjoyment, and to connect with those close to us. Being constantly connected brings increased risk of theft, fraud, and abuse. Download a Stop.Think.Connect. brochure which offers tips and information about identity theft, fraud, cyber bullying, cyber predators and more.
