Tribute to Lourdes Salazar
On October 2, one of our close friends and collaborators left this earth. Lourdes Salazar Portillo was a strong, smart, and selfless woman. Many of us knew her from her work at the City of Bellevue and as a Commissioner of Hispanic Affairs and her involvement with the Latino Community Fund, Leadership Eastside, Office of Law Enforcement Oversight - King Co. Sheriff Dept., and Eastside Latino Leadership Forum. Lourdes had been involved with Eastside Pathways since its early days being a liaison to the Latino community on the Eastside.

While her passing may have been sudden after a brief battle with cancer, the impact on her family, friends, and community will be long lasting as many were touched by her love, kindness, and support.
