October Newsletter 2017

National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

The National Breast Cancer Awareness Month is an annual international health campaign organized by major  breast cancer  charities every October to increase  awareness of the disease  and to  raise funds  for research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure. The campaign also offers information and support to those affected by breast cancer.

The Susan G Komen website is an excellent way to get information and or how to get involved with the fight against breast cancer!

New Service....

Please welcome our new Baseball Coach Andres Rivera!  Andres is now available for Baseball lessons.  Please contact Andres at
402-423-2511 or email him andres@lincolnathleticclub.com
to start lessons today!

My name is Andrés "Dre" Rivera and I am 25 years old. I was born and raised in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, which is the home of former Major League Baseball players like Iván "Pudge" Rodríguez, Juan "Igor" González and Ramón Castro. I have always had a passion for baseball. At the age of eight, I started my journey as a baseball player, playing the game for some of the best coaches and best teams on the island; from little league teams to amateur baseball for my hometown city, Vega Baja. I had the opportunity to attend the most prestigious baseball academy and high school in Puerto Rico. I was instructed by some of the best professional baseball coaches in Puerto Rico, which many of them served and still serve as coaches for Major League Baseball teams. In 2009, I had the opportunity to represent my country in the Pony World Series in San Jose, California. The following year, I had the opportunity to come to United States to begin working toward my bachelor's degree and play college baseball for the Galveston College Whitecaps in Galveston, Texas. Then, I finished my bachelor's degree in fitness management with the Doane University Tigers in Crete, Nebraska, where I had the opportunity to develop as a player and learn more about the game of baseball from great coaches. Currently I serve as a volunteer assistant baseball coach and strength & conditioning coach for the Tigers at Doane University. My goal is to help baseball players develop to their full potential by implementing the knowledge that I have acquired from the many professional players and coaches that I have been able to learn from and work out with throughout my baseball career.

Nursery/Jr Gym News

Important Reminders:

  • There is no transferring from the Nursery to the Jr Gym or vise versa. This is for the safety of your children. Please have your children decide before they enter which area they would like to stay in.
  • Please make sure that you label your child's bag so the workers know which bag belongs to your child. We will have some tags you can attach to your child's bag located in the Nursery if you need one.
  • Lastly, please remember to bring both diapers and wipes for your child if they are still in diapers.
