Be The Change!

The annual StriveTogether 2017 Cradle to Career Network Convening was held in Phoenix from October 3 to 5, with the theme Be the Change: Getting Results for Every Child.

The Eastside Pathways team attended the event with some of its partners.
It was a huge learning experience, especially for those of us who were attending for the first time. It was great to connect with people who were passionate about the work they do. It was inspiring to listen to success stories. It was good to share the knowledge and learn best practices. We came away enthused with a renewed commitment to provide every child the opportunities they need to be successful.
Conversations On Equity
In June 2017, the Bellevue School District (BSD), City of Bellevue, Eastside Pathways, and Leadership Eastside, held the first Eastside Racial Equity summit. The purpose was to bring together organizations across East King County to deepen individual understanding and commitment to racial equity and work towards having a more equitable Eastside.

Continuing  on that journey, a follow-up meeting "Conversations on Equity" was held on September 20, facilitated by Shomari Jones, Equity Director at BSD.  A group of about 25 folks from different organizations, including Lake Washington School District, Virginia Mason, Eastside Refugee and Immigrant Coalition, City of Bellevue gathered together to continue the conversation.
