OUR MISSION:
St. Rita School inspires students in Pre-Kindergarten through grade eight to achieve academic excellence in a safe, nurturing and faith-filled Catholic environment.
We prepare students to be morally responsible, innovative thinkers who, in today’s technology-guided global community, live and share the Love of Christ.
From the desk of Mrs. Tiezzi

Dear SRS Parents,
I hope you all enjoyed your unexpected long weekend. Please be advised that yesterday’s last minute school cancellation was made by the Superintendent of Schools in Hamden due to concerns about power outages, downed trees and wires. SRS notifies parents via email and TV stations (3, 8 and 30) regarding the change in school status. Please be sure you check on days when the weather is questionable.
Tomorrow is All Saints Day, a holy day of obligation. Students in grades PreK-4 through grade 8 will be attending Mass @ 9:00 A.M. Students in grades kindergarten through grade 8 will also be attending Mass on Friday @ 8:45 A.M. for First Friday. Students who have best exemplified the virtue of gratitude for the month of October will be recognized after Mass on Friday.
Congratulations and good luck to the John Amatrudo, Brendan Barnett, and Jack Frioni (trumpet), John Crosby (trombone) and Ryan LaPolt (clarinet) who have auditioned and were accepted into the CT Future Musicians Southern Honors Regional Band. They will be performing with over 30 other musicians in a concert on Saturday, November 4 at 3:00 P.M. at Norte Dame High School in West Haven.
The virtue for the month of November is peacefulness. Peacefulness is a way of approaching conflict with others so that no one is made wrong. It is being fair to others and yourself. Peace is giving up the love of power for the power of love. Peace begins with ourselves and involves mutual respect and collaboration among people. Let us make a conscience effort to practice peacefulness in our school, homes and workplaces so that peace will spread throughout our world.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Trunk or Treat and Middle School dance on Friday evening. It was wonderful to see so many people in attendance. Have a wonderful and safe Halloween with your children.

God Bless,
Mrs. Tiezzi
