Preuss Alumni in the Arts
By Jacqueline Le

After graduating from Preuss, many of our alumni have actively pursued their passion in the arts. They are now drawing, singing, dancing, filming, and writing their way into the spotlight!

Pictured above is one of Tu Vo's (California College of Art '15) projects in basketry. At CCA, she is creating her senior thesis film, which focuses on the theme of believing in oneself. You can see more of Tu's work at http://tumation.tumblr.com!
Kyle Norquist's (San Diego State '16) life is in sixth gear! As he studies and practices to earn his Bachelor's of Music Performance, he performs with the SDSU Classical Guitar Ensemble, and interns at San Diego Pirate Radio as an internet DJ and audio engineer of his own show. In addition, Kyle runs his own music teaching business, Classy Kyle (http://classykyle.com/). Kyle and his wife are also expecting their first child!

Cassandra Lopez is currently training in New York City at the renowned Circle in the Square Theatre School. She has performed at theatres such as The Old Globe, Lyceum, and the Welk. She danced and choreographed in the Mesa College Dance Company. Cassandra also received an NYA Theatre Award in the category of Outstanding Lead Actress in a Musical for her role as Mini Marquez in Rent!
Jose Galvan (University of San Diego '15), an Acting & Directing major, interns at the Old Globe and studies under Ray Chambers, Jan Gist, and Brian Byrans. Jose recently received the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF) Meritorious Achievement Award for his tremendous work as the Assistant Director and use of shadow puppetry in  USD's production of Eurydice by Sarah Ruhl. He has finished making a documentary called Uploaded: the Asian American Movement, which is about a generation of Asian Americans finding their voice through new media (http://uploadedtaam.com/). He has also developed a YouTube channel called ShutUpAndDance with over 75,000 subscribers. They tell stories through dance, drama, and comedy (https://www.youtube.com/user/shutupanddance). Hello! I'm Jacqueline Le! I will be helping Amaris as she studies abroad in Hong Kong. I am very excited to meet everyone! A little about myself: I graduated from Preuss in 2013 and am currently a second year at UCSD studying Public Health. You can find me playing lacrosse, trying new foods, or watching movies on Netflix. I'll see everyone at Homecoming!
