Congratulations Miss Gail!

This summer our ballet instructor, Gail Hartnett, spent 9 days at the studios of the American Ballet Theatre in NYC to participate in their training program for ballet teachers. Miss Gail is now an ABT Certified Teacher, who has successfully completed the ABT Teacher Training Intensive in Pre-Primary through Level 3 of the ABT National Training Curriculum.  Congratulations Miss Gail!

Tuition Payments
Monthly Tuition payments are due by the first of each month. Use your email address to log into the Customer Portal and pay your bill securely and conveniently online -

All customers are required to submit a credit/debit card or bank draft information at registration. If your account is not paid in full by the 15th of each month, this payment method will be charged for the balance due. If your payment is declined, a $10 late fee will be applied to your account. Payments made on past due accounts will be applied to the oldest invoice first.

A Great Dance Show for the Family
Linalynn Schmelzer, former Dance Corner student and instructor, is performing on Saturday 10/18 in Deep River, with her company The River Valley Dance Project.  It will be an exciting evening of dance and live music!
The Dance Corner Voted Best of the Shoreline!

The Dance Corner was voted Best Ballet Studio and Best Kids Dance Studio in the 2014 annual Shoreline Newspapers readers poll.  Thank you to all who voted.  We appreciate your support and will continue to provide students with a positive learning environment to enjoy the art of dance.

 

Perform in The Winter Follies!

Don't miss your chance to perform in our annual holiday performance to benefit Toys for Tots.  The Winter Follies is scheduled for Saturday 12/13.  All dancers ages 4 and up are invited to participate.  

Dancers must sign up to participate.  Rehearsals will be held Sunday 11/9, Sunday 12/7, and Friday 12/12.

Try a New Class in October!
The Dance Corner is offering free trial classes for all students during the month of October.  Have you always wondered if you would like Hip Hop?  Why not try a class?  Maybe bring a friend too!
 
Check out our class schedule to find the class that is right for you.  All classes are available for trial except those with "waitlist" listed next to them on the schedule page.

Dance Corner Jackets are Available Now! 
 
The Dance Corner Jackets are available for order in the shop or by emailing Miss Carrie.
 
Jacket orders must be placed by 10/6. 
Jackets make fantastic gifts, and are great for your dancer to have at team events, competitions, and to show your studio pride at school and around town! 
Dress Code
 Just like sports, dance has a uniform. It is important that students come to class dressed appropriately and ready to dance. The Dance Corner enforces the following dress code for all classes. 

  

Girls:  

Twinkle Twos, Pre-Star & Kinderstars classes: 

All students must wear a pink leotard and pink tights. Single-layer chiffon dance skirts are allowed, but no tutus please. Pink leather ballet slippers and black patent leather tap shoes (if applicable).  


 

Cirque Stars Tumbling and Jazz classes:

Students may wear any style solid color leotard with Pink, black or Tan tights with tan jazz boots.  Black, fitted dance shorts or black leggings are permitted.  Single-layer chiffon dance skirts are allowed, but no tutus please.
 
 

All Ages Hip Hop classes: 

Students may wear any style solid color leotard with Pink, black or Tan tights. Black, fitted dance shorts, black leggings, black jazz pants or black or pink dance skirts will be allowed only by instructor approval. Solid colored, fitted tank tops will only be allowed in classes for ages 9 & up by instructor approval.

  

Ages 6 & Up Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Irish Step, Contemporary,  & Lyrical classesStudents may wear any style solid color leotard with Pink, black or Tan tights. Black, fitted dance shorts, black leggings, black jazz pants or black or pink dance skirts will be allowed only by instructor approval. Pants are not allowed in ballet classes.  Solid colored, fitted tank tops will only be allowed in classes for ages 9 & up by instructor approval. Lyrical, Contemporary and some Jazz classes may require bare feet, so be sure to wear convertible or footless tights if required.

  

Acrobatics classes:

Students may wear any style solid color leotard with pink, black or tan footless tights.  Black, fitted dance shorts or black leggings are allowed, but no pants or skirts.  Students should be barefoot.
 

For all classes-

Hair must be pulled up, away from the face in a ponytail, bun or braid. Students with shorter hair should wear barrettes or a headband to keep hair out of face.

  

No sweatpants, pajama pants, baggy shorts, t-shirts or other baggy clothing will be allowed in girls dance classes. Please avoid hanging jewelry and watches as well.


 

Ballet Sweaters, or fitted cardigan or pullover sweaters that don't fall below the hips will be allowed during warm-up at the instructors discretion.

 

Boys:

All Classes: shorts/sweats and t-shirt.

  

 
Jeans are not appropriate dancewear for girls or boys. 
Students who are not properly dressed for class will not be allowed to participate. Please respect the dress code.  Students who are not properly dressed for class will be asked to observe class.
